After all, there's only so much fossil fuel left. It makes sense to think (and actually take action) about alternative energy sources.

I agree with you on that, but I just don't want electric, or hybrid vehicles jammed down my throat. While oil is still being pumped out of the ground, people should be free to choose what they want powering their automobiles.

 

I get this funny feeling we're just one or 2 elections away from being forced into these things, or driverless vehicles ...

As far as electric cars go and traveling, have you all heard of a Tesla supercharger?   When I first heard the name I thought how the hell can an electric motor be supercharged.,,,,   However a supercharger is a station for charging the Tesla electric motor in a about 30 minutes.   And there are supercharger stations all over the US and Canada now.

I wouldn't mind an all electric truck.

And when I feel like that I need to pull a dipstick or to change plugs, I'd simply buy me an old J10 again.

yeah, thats actually got some pretty good specs on it. would like to see how that 400 mile range handles a 8000lb travel trailer behind it. 

 

The one big thing Tesla has over these new players, and GM/Ford/etc is their supercharger network. Really looking forward to seeing what their pickup has in store.

Easy to get 'supercharge power' from the windmills and solar station at my estate, but it's not cheap...for you.

I’ve heard of a Tesla Supercharger, there is one in my town; but before Tesla can be taken seriously as a mainstream automaker they need to address three things that are very well documented: 1 is their stance on Right to Repair. More and more of their cars are coming off warranty and the owners are finding out that parts and service are obscenely expensive and that if you wrecked one, Tesla will act like that particular VIN doesn’t exist anymore unless you pay a kings ransom to “certify” it. 2 is the amount and location of their “stores”, take Tennessee for example, there is only one store and service center in the ENTIRE state, and they are located in the wealthiest county in the state (Williamson County). If you look at other locations, you will find this exact same pattern of being located in very wealthy affluent areas. 3 is that we were promised a $35,000 Electric car, and they delivered something that is twice the price and with half of the quality that has to be assembled in a TENT. 5.5 MILLION square feet of factory space and they can’t utilize it for crap! Tesla is not a mainstream manufacturer, it’s a boutique brand that is a green status symbol for the rich.

You won't hear the truth on the MSM, that's for sure.

 

They're revolting over the socialist tax hikes on gasoline that the socialist PM plans to use to "curb global warming". What a friggin scam! Good that the French people saw it for what it is. Hopefully that sends a loud, clear message to globalists around the planet.

actually, it was the Diesel tax that jumped up 14.1 cents; the French drive more diesels than gasoline cars. can you imagine having to pay nearly $7 to fill up an HD truck? the US would GRIND TO A HALT in protests!

$7 a gallon would crush the economy pretty quick over here ...
