Strange, my 2020 AT4 6.2 does not stay in tow haul if parked for more than a couple hours, it also defaults back to normal...

There might be some kind of time limit on mine too. I just assumed it stayed in that mode till I changed it back, because I would always have to turn it off after unhitching the trailer. Don’t think I ever left it on overnight to see.

This video shows in Off Road mode it actually makes the tires squeal and seat of the pants is quicker where the other ones don’t so I don’t know if it’s reducing torque management or what

Does tow haul and/or sport mode keep it out of overdrive or top gear(s)?

No. Only the manual mode does that from what others have found.

I've had my RST 5.3 8 speed since February, and I can honestly say I've never messed around with the different modes.  After seeing this post I tried it for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.  Steering is way better, throttle response Vs. pedal deflection seems more inline with a V8.  I also will be monitoring the MPG as my driving is pretty scripted day to day. I will make switching the modes a routine along with pushing the auto stop/start button.  I do wish this truck would remember previous selections, that's my only complaint so far.

2020 AT4 with 6.2L Short box and took a ride up to Lake George a few weeks ago... 3 hour trip... on the way up I used "sport" mode and on the way back "normal" and in sport mode I got 2 MPG more. Not sure how that is when it's supposed to be sport mode. Driving was a mix of highway and country type back roads.

It sounds like one way was up, and the other way was down. That could explain the mpg difference, too.

I'd be interested to know the shift points in Sport because it's a blast to drive! I have the 6.2L and a Borla, which makes Sport mode pure enjoyment to drive emoji7.png

Which borla exhaust do you have?

I had tried sport mode once and saw the opposite.  About 1-2 MPG lower on a 30 mile trip that I make twice a week.  Not very scientific....

Yes, there is a difference between normal and sport mode.  Sport mode is designed for "aggressive driving".  Throttle response increases and the exhaust is louder.  As stated in other posts, especially with performance exhaust there is definitely a difference.
