"We're very sorry for the multiple issues you've encountered with your 14 crew cab. Please feel free to send us a PM or an email to[email protected] if you'd like for us to look into these further for you. We're happy to assist any way we can."

Eddie A --- and just what authority do you (or your cubical mates) have to address this problem, swap the truck, refund the customer, compensate the customer, etc.? Answer - none. All you can do is delay, defer, redirect, and waste time.

So I finally get my truck back today after being at dealer for 6 days. First of all I have to say the service manager was very professional and understanding about my concerns. We test drove truck and he agreed there was a vibration, most noticeable 65-75 mph. The first thing they did was road force balance the tires, he test drove it and the vibration was still there but not as noticeable. The GM rep then had them check the ring and pinion which was within tolerance. Upon further inspection they found excessive play in my passenger rear shock, GM rep told them replace all four shocks. They replaced the front shocks and truck was pulling to the right, had an alignment done fixed issue. This is making sense since I felt the vibration more sitting in the passenger seat on the test drive.

When I picked up truck service manager asked if I had my tires balanced before, I told him yes that I was trying to rule out a balance issue. He told me they didn't do a very good job they were all off. The place I brought it to didn't do a road force balance they told me that is only needed for older vehicles with worn out suspension systems, not going there again. My vibration is now gone I do not feel it in the seat anymore, my wife doesn't feel it either sitting on passenger side. What I will say is the goodyear SRA tires are junk and can't wait to get some new rubber on there along with Bilsteen shocks. I'm extremely relieved to have had this fixed, and really feel bad for the ones who haven't been so lucky. Good luck to everyone!!

Wish I didn't post this, after second day of driving my truck I noticed the vibration has returned. Today I drove down expressway with three co-workers and asked if they felt vibration while driving at highway speeds, they all agreed that they felt a vibration or shake or whatever this problem is being called. I usually drive back roads when I pick them up, but decided to use highway to see what someone else's opinion was. They've been hearing me complaining for the last month about this and now believe me since they experienced it. I also had my wife with me today on highway and she also agrees it's vibrating again. I will be calling dealer again Monday wonder how long the wait will be this time. Very disappointed that GM can't come up with a fix for this.

Some have been saying it's tires and suspension. I know what tire and road noise is, this is something that comes and goes. When I was driving home today with wife I was able to get it to vibrate at 67 mph on cruise control for about 2 miles, very noticeable. IMO the transmission is not in sync with engine and or software that GM is running on these trucks, because it happens randomly at different speeds. If it was tires/suspension vibration or shake the problem would be there all the time. If GM is going to tell me this is normal :bs: , then I want my money back because the truck didn't do this when I bought it. If I was told that GM trucks vibrate and it's normal I wouldn't of bought this truck.

Sounds like to me some of you guys are getting your trucks fixed. I can not understand why GM is picking and choosing whose truck they work on. Seems like to me, GM would work to fix everyones truck. Instead people whose trucks are not being fixed are going to the BBB and/or getting a Lawyer. Being a life long GM customer, all I want is to have my truck fixed. But GM is refusing to fix my truck because they are stating this is Normal for a Z71. The guys that are getting your trucks fixed. How are you getting the dealership to help you with getting the problem solved? I can not get a dealership to help me get this fixed or even look at it and I have contacted GM's Customer Service with no help from them.

Mark , sorry to hear that your dealer won't look at your truck that's total BS! If you read my previous post it explains my first experience with the service manager. I forgot to mention when I picked up my truck a few days ago from being serviced, the truck drove like the day I bought it. What I mean is that the truck was hesitant from a stop and felt like I was towing something. So, my guess is the dealer re-flashed the computer on board, but it wasn't listed in the invoice on the service they did. I immediately recognized this and started to drive truck aggressive from a stop, that hesitation went away after a day of quick take offs. I will find out tomorrow how long of a wait it's going to be, the last time I waited 9 days for an appointment.

they just randomly pick vehicles to try "parts changing" just trying to get lucky because they don't know what is wrong with them and they know one out of five trucks have this problem so they would go bankrupt trying to fix them all. its cheaper to NOT try to fix them for most of us and pick a few random trucks here and there hoping to stumble upon a fix that works for them. if you are very sweet and polite the whole time you request it be fixed they are more likely to try at the dealership level to solve this. GM corp wants nothing to do with fixing your vehicle because no matter what happens it cost them money or it costs them more money so its a lose lose situation for them.

Some people get lucky and have a dealership that agrees there is a prob with the truck and the dealership actually tries to fix it. Sometimes they hit on the right series of repairs and it works to fix the prob. Or, their delaership admits they cant fix it, tells GM and then there is GM trade assistance or a GM buy back offer.

Other people, like myself, have a dealership that refuses to admit there is a problem and will do nothing to help beyond balancing the tires. Then you call GM cust care (oxymoron) and they say they wont help either because the dealership says there isnt a problem with the truck. They tell you to take it for a second opinion at another dealer, but they wont help you do that either, and the second and third Chevy dealers tell you bluntly, "You didnt buy it from us, so we wont help you". Evidently GM allows them to do that without penalty.

Then you contact BBB Autoline and file a complaint and they talk to GM and suddenly, GM wants to help you, and the dealership wants to help you. Only, the dealership doesnt really want to help at all, so they just keep balancing tires and telling you "Its Fixed, Rides Like A Caddy". You drive over AGAIN to test drive it and its BS. Still vibrates. Then the dealer tells you that as far as their concerned, its fixed.

So, you hire a lawyer.

"So, you hire a lawyer."

Yup. Preferrably one like mine ... one who owns (or controls) a greater than average share of GM stock as well as in Time Warner.

I got my situation fixed by giving my Mexican

2014 1500 back on a trade assist and getting into an American made 2015 2500 duramax. Pressure them into a buy back they don't seem to care about fixing the 2014s. Just a big waste of time. No problems with the 2500 so far with 1800mi on the clock

I traded my first one in with "assistance" and my second has been great. The "Mexican" built truck you speak of has the same problems as many "American" built double and single cab vehicles... Yea I would prefer it made in the US but its not..

Even though it's a pain in the A** I've felt confident in my dealers service dept, after all they

have been there since 1938, also they are very up front in following just exactly what GENERAL MOTORS

& Chevrolet Motor Division have prescribed :help:

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. :sigh:

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
