After putting ajustable Bilsteins and load range E tires on my truck the vibes went away maybe 80% of the time. So then I started messing with air pressure on the tires. They are a good sized all terrain tire with max pressure of 80psi. I originally had them set at 50. Now I dropped them to 40psi and it rides very well. Much better than stock and vibe is 99% gone. Only time I feel it slightly is when going up or down inclines overpasses etc. Don't know if this helps anyone but thought I'd chime in

I'm glad to hear this helped you. My local tire dealer suggest I get the E tire even on my 1500. They drove my truck on our beat up cracking concrete roads and said it e tires would hold up better and not let truck jiggle and shake so bad.

I was unsure of his suggestion. He begged that I go with e tire over p tire. Do you notice difference in mpg's trek? I'll be willing to take a hit in mpg's to have comfort on city streets etc.

I have been wondering if the trucks modified by American Luxury Coach vibrate too? If they vibrate then it can rule out driveline angle and control arm issues.

They make the Z72-Z92 package trucks

1700 miles on my GM trade assist 2017 Silverado. Now shaking at 80 mph. Felt lightly in the steeringwheel but significantly in the seats.

My truck has roughly 34,500 miles on it. 2015 CC Silverado Z71 LTZ. I have had the shake for as long as I have had the truck but since it wasn't my daily driver for the first year or so the shake didn't really bother me that much. I mentioned it to my dealership while I was getting the oil changed and they balanced the tires 275/70/18 Goodyear Duratracs or do an alignment and my drive home was great. Again since I didn't drive it everyday and I only got the shake at 70-75 mph it wasn't a big concern of mine.

Now I drive it everyday and until I put new tires on my truck this past week I could feel the shake as low as 40 mph. In all honesty that is probably because the vibration ruined my duratracs over the 30,000+ miles they had on them making the combination of the shake and the warped tires feel like I was on a cobblestone road.

With the new tires Nitto Terra Grappler G2 275/70/18 I am back to a smooth ride until i get up to about 65+, which like all others have said all but eliminate the tires being the cause of the vibration. I will be calling my dealership today to get them to figure this problem out. If they won't do anything i may need assistance contacting GM directly to get this taken care of properly. If they are able to fix it I will definitely post the solution back here.

If I read the tire code chart correctly, P = Passenger, E= 10 Ply? Is that correct? If yes, it would be hard for me to believe a 10 ply tire would ride smoother than a passenger tire which is typically a 4 ply tire I believe. Anyway, I'm skeptical.

Just fyi; I replaced my OEM Goodyear Wranglers with Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires which I believe are 6 ply. And, the ride is now considerably smoother. But, the root cause of the rough ride is the leaf spring rear suspension system. GM needs to work on this for sure. I'm lobbying for a "city slicker" option with coil springs supplemented with air bags similar to Ram. I well understand that some load capacity would suffer but for those needing more load capacity there would still be the leaf spring system as an option. And, for measuring the "mine is bigger than yours" eternal contest between GM and Ford the comparison could remain between the leaf spring systems. Anyway, my two bits :)

bringing the truck back in tommrow to have the shake looked at again. I wonder if they are going to give me shit since I put new tires on that aren't any of the oem style.

They will blame the tires. Hold off on making significant changes. They've been known to void warranties over BS.

Update: Truck got its new tires and new rack bushings and the Field Service Engineer says it's much better than before. Of note though he mentioned that last week he had all tires roadforce balanced to under 10 and today after road test and re checking RFB one of the tires was at 40lbs. Either the tires are complete junk or they are moving on the bead

Dealer is going to drive the truck the next two days and heat cycle the tires then I will drive it to verify.

Apparently the steering bushings are the magic fix

Ask your mechanic to place mark a line with crayon from rim to tire, this will rule out his suspicions.....and then a new theory will be hatched again!

I have heard people claim this, but it's not true in my opinion.

Thxs Good luck

Went for a ride with the shop Forman. Went for a ride and clearly saw and felt the center console vibration. Got back the dealer and handed me a piece of paper that says its normal operating conditions. Said they could road force balance the tires but would have to charge me, even though I had 3 prior complaints about the shake and 3 attempted fixes. such bs

This is exactly what they do. You are among many who have been turned away.

Hey guys. FYI- I had toyo open country A/T's on

My GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 LT275/65R18 the dealer said they were bad. This was after the OEM tires were supposed to be bad. We took the Toyos off and put on LT275/65R18 BF Goodrich KO2 load range E and it was better but still there. They called the GM rep in and of course he blamed the new tires, saying they were aftermarket and not factory. I told them to swapp my tires with a stock unit and the vibration was so bad he could not believe it. The rep said the tires on the stock unit must be bad too. Hard to believe they say this crap with a straight face. We put my BF's back on and he says commercially acceptable. I filed for CT lemon law and won.

I now have a 2017 Silverado and so far so good no issues at all. Smooth up to 85.

I won't hold my breath....

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
