I drove from Fort Myers to Savannah yesterday and saw probably 100+ Silverado/sierras on the road. If everyone was having vibration problems with their new trucks, I assure you they wouldn't be driving them on the highway if they had other vehicles... My truck is vib free after new tires and now another is saying the same thing... I have 2 14 Chevy vehicles now and the only issue I have with them is my seat shifts ever so slightly and I know how to fix that myself.. I just rotated the tires on my Silverado and still smooth... My impala has 13000 miles and Silverado 9500. If I were to put money on it, I still think its the packing within the driveshafts... We need to set up a donation account and have someone get their driveshaft replaced themselves at a reputable shaft shop and see if it solves anything lol. I think the aluminum shafts are the issue... Anyone with a steel shaft vibrating? My issue was a tire out of round or balance... Im getting up there in mileage now and I'll keep reporting. I still think vibrations in the steering wheel is def the tires, vibrations in the rear could be either tires or shaft... Maybe it has something to do with the weight of the tires? I went to a 10 ply and they're considerably heavier. Cooper at2 tires probably the same?

I have the z71 18 inch rims if that means anything? I had vibrations so bad with my first with 20's... The dealer said when I was dealing with my first truck, couldn't order 20's for anything because of an issue with them... My LTZ and several other had the standard 18's or z71 18's for about a month and a half....

That's a possibility. I've basically reached the point where I don't want to keep this truck past the warranty period, but the vibration isn't bad enough to start fighting with the dealer. If something breaks or it gets unbearable I'll pursue it but otherwise, I'm just going to cut my losses, save my money, and dump this thing. Hell I may just trade up in a few years after bugs have been worked out.

I'm definitely not sinking any money into changing transmission or differential fluids and I'm no longer pulling out my drop in liner to put in a spray on liner. I MAY, and that's a HUGE MAY, change out the sh!tty Rancho shocks for Bilsteins when they become available and see if that helps with anything. Of course once the tires go bad they will need to be replaced so that may fix something....I dunno. Oh and I'm going back to 87 octane gas. Whatever benefit 89 was giving me is irrelevant at this point and I'll gladly save the $6 a fill-up.

Congratulations GM, you've officially turned off this customer.

I have the same problem like you and thousands of others, but I don't know why you would wait till the warranty is over as far as I'm concerned they might as well not have a warranty if they are not going to fix problems that almost everyone on this site has what good is a warranty!

Everyone is saying "Come on GM, fix the problem" But I'm guessing that they have yet to be able to figure out what the problem is so that they can fix it. Some things just take time, even in this day and age. They know it's an issue. They just need to be more open about it. Just them promising the customers that they know there is a problem and are doing their best to come up with a solution and to provide updates would make most happy and give some peace of mind.

I can tell you right now from experience with my last truck that this vibration is coming from the drivetrain. It's either transmission, driveshaft or differential. I know some will say I'm comparing apples to oranges but my 2005 tacoma started vibrating at highway speeds at 220,000. I did all the work myself started with new tires no change then new clutch, carrier bearing, universal joints problem solved. Only reason I traded it in with 270000 for GMC, needed better tow vehicle also bolts on oil pan, exhaust and valve covers rusted out.

So I took a gamble and bought some Toyo open country at2's yesterday and it seems to have solved the problem! I was in traffic on the highway yesterday going along with the flow and I looked down and was doing 85mph and was smooth as silk! I can't stress enough how much good tires play an important role in these new trucks. The reason I took a gamble is because toyo has a 45 day or 500 mile ride guarentee and if you are not satisfied you can return the tires. Asked my local tire place all about that ride program and they told me bring them back if the vibration comes back. So I really had nothing to lose. Michelin also has a 30 day ride guarentee program as well. I would gladly shell out the cash to get a decent set of tires if I had known it would take care of the problem a while ago. Pretty much at this point we know GM isn't going to help us and we need to take matters into our own hands (I know we shouldn't have to but that's where it is at this point) I will report if the vibe comes back but for now I can say it's fixed!!

I have been saying tires, right from the get go. I had lots of vibrations and shaking with my truck. Stock Goodyear tires on these trucks are garbage. I had after market rims 22inch rims and Falken tires which also had issues causing my truck to vibrate. I went back to stock rims and new hankook winter pike tires and vibrations and shaking are gone. I have put on 3500km's since my last post and truck is still smooth as silk. I suggest everyone try the 500 mile warranty on the toyo's or Michelins. What do you have to lose at this point. If it doesn't solve the problem you wouldn't be out anything other than you're time.

I'm waiting mainly because the vibration is not bad enough to deal with trying to fix it. I work a lot and can't afford to keep going to the dealer for them to trace an un-fixable problem and give me the run around. I've already decided I don't want this truck for the long term (I originally bought it with the intention of paying it off and driving it for a long time) so I'm just waiting for the right moment to unload it. Possibly for another brand. I'm REALLY excited about the Cummins Diesel Titan and Tundra. GM missed a huge opportunity by not coming out with a diesel engine for the Silverado. I may check out the Diesel Colorado/Canyon in a few years. Either way I'm definitely not buying another first year model run ever again. EVER!

let me ask this question, I go have 900.00 Michelins put on my truck and it takes care of problem. my general grabbers have 4000 miles on them and 2 of them has been replaced and "road forced balanced" numerous times, would gm give us credit on those tires?

I guess it depends. Did you buy the tires from you're dealer? Or were the general grabbers on the truck when you bought it?

You could also sell them on Craigslist

My dealer gave me 100 bucks for each Goodyear stock tire. He also gave me his cost on the new hankooks. It cost me about 500 to do the deal. Small price paid to get rid of annoying vibrations and shake. I'm not saying tires are the only issue with all of these trucks but like I have posted in the past. I had some really bad shaking and vibrations with my truck. Went thru multiple balances with stockers, swapped out to new 22 inch rims and tires, had those balanced twice and 2 of those tires were replaced as they were out of round. It got better but never fully smooth. I went back to stock rims, had dealer install new hankook winter tires and the truck rides like a caddy. No shake or vibrations right to 100 mph. I for one understand the frustration people on this forum are going thru at one point I was going to get rid of the truck and trade it for a ram eco diesel. I hated my truck when it vibrated as it drove me nuts. My last resort was my dealer installed a set of new rims and tires off of a different 2015 vehicle and told me to take it for a drive. Too my surprise the vibration and shakes were gone. I made the deal to upgrade my stock goodyears with the dealer and so far it's smooth. Hope this helps and if I had an opportunity to try a new set of tires that are guaranteed for 500 miles I'd be all over it.

Too add a little more incite. If you look at my avatar you will notice the after market rims and tires on my truck. I couldn't get these tires and rims to ride smooth after multiple balancing and replacement of 2 tires 305/40r 22. They cost me 1500 and are sitting in my garage. I'm not sure if I will sell them in the spring or try road forcing them or even the bead trick. For now I am happy with the stockers and new tires but I sure like the look of my aftermarkets. At this point good looks take a back seat. I can say without a doubt do not rule out tires as the problem. My total cost to resolve my issue was 2k sure wish I had that 500 mile guarantee when I was having trouble.

Hi it's me again, I went to Michelin website couldn't find anything about 500 mile warranty . they do offer 30 day guarantee and if not happy can take them back for a new set of tires

Michelin has the 30 day ride guarantee and Toyo has a 45 day or 500 mile guarantee whichever comes first.

Here is my update: So I've had my truck into service 4 times now.

1. Checked tire - Goodyear right rear tire was bad. Replaced - Shake continued

2. Brought it again - Roadforce balanced - Shake continued

3. Brought it in again - Brand new Michelin's put on. Shake continues

SO WTF?!?! Does someone not know how to balance these tires?

At this point I am furious and wrote a letter to that lady at GM. Of course she didn't do anything but send the letter to a GM Customer Service Rep. This rep Bridgett has been of no help. Actually she has been straight up ignorant and irritating. So while speaking to her I ask that she find me another dealership to work with as this one that I bought the vehicle from (while the Service Manager seems to care) obviously don't even know how to take care of the recalls of their vehicles on their lot before we buy them. Yep that's right. This GM Customer Service Rep said that there are two recalls on my truck that STILL haven't been addressed that have been out since June. I bought this truck Beginning of SEPTEMBER!!!! Am I upset? Yeah. The time it took to drive to this dealership (45 minutes one way) numerous times and then find out that I need to send it back in AGAIN? Yeah. I'm furious. Did I say that already?

But getting back to Bridgett and this latest debacle, I requested that she set me up with a dealership that is closer to my house. Alright. There is just one 6 miles away. This can't be too hard right? Nope! I get a call from the dealership and all they said they would do is check the tires. WTF? AGAIN? I was livid. While stuck in a traffic jam 2 hours from my house I explain to this new Service Manager what I have already done and that if he was going to waste my time by just kicking the tires, then for him to not even bother. He asked me what I wanted him to do. (Ok, maybe he is willing to actually do something or at least act like he cares). I told him to check the backlash like others here suggested. I asked him to do the EVA, check the axles, check the driveshaft. So he says sure, I can do that. Great. So we planned on two Wednesday's ago per our conversation on Tuesday October 28th. I get a phone call from Bridgett 10 minutes later and she says, "Great news, I spoke with ..... at the dealership and he said that you have an appointment NEXT WEDNESDAY". I was like what? I just spoke to him and he said tomorrow provided he can find me a truck so that I can work out of. She paused and said, well your appointment is going to be with him. Its going to be in Louisville. I said, well that's news to me and I know nothing about it as I haven't received any phone calls from that other dealership. This is where is gets really maddening. I call back to the dealership I just got off the phone with and he says he knows nothing about the Louisville appointment. So Wednesday the 28th of Oct rolls around and I hear nothing from either place. Thursday I hear nothing again. Friday I call both the Service manager and Left a message. I then called Bridgett and left a message. Heard nothing again. Monday I call Bridgett and left a message. Tuesday I left another message with Bridgett asking where I was supposed to take the vehicle Wednesday. I decide to drive to the local dealership and "get my oil changed" so that I can speak with the Service Manager. I walk in, and approach him. He says I got a phone call from Bridgett and she said you were going to take it to Louisville and that you have an appointment at 9AM. I was like eh no. He looked baffled. So he said, I'll figure what's going on and get back to you Wednesday at 10am. (one hour after the appointment). So Wednesday rolls around and 10 AM comes and I get a phone call from him. He said for me to bring it in to him Thursday. He said that GM has definitely dropped the ball on this and that he would do his best to figure out what's wrong with the truck. So he put me in a Enterprise Rent a Car 2015 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab LT (identical to mine except its a 2015 and it has 17" wheels). Sweet. So now I can see if it drives the same way. NOPE. DRIVES LIKE A DREAM!!! I took it up to 85 miles per hour and smooth as silk! The transmission seems so much more refined than mine. No vibration in peddle like there is in mine. The shifts are so much smoother. So with a big smile I called the Service Manager to tell him the great news about how well the 2015 drives. So there has to be something wrong with mine right? So I get a phone call Friday at 5pm and the Service Manager says, Great news, yours is all fixed. There was nothing wrong with your backlash, nothing wrong with your axles, nothing wrong with your drive shaft, but we found your tires were grossly unbalanced. He said that the tech took it for a test drive up to 80mph and it was smooth as could be. But he would like to keep it until Tuesday so that they could continue to test drive it and make sure that the vibration doesn't come back. And while he had it he would like to do the two recalls that the previous service manager failed to do. So am I getting just a bunch of hot smoke blown in my face or do you think he really fixed it? If its not fixed, I'm taking it back to the first dealership and forcing them to do a buy back. Well, I'll plead with them. LOL

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.
    • How about them NICKS!!!
    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
