Is there a bulletin out on this yet? Has anyone gotten a fix that works? My seat seems to be moving more often and the clunck has lessened in noise.

Dealer called last week and said they installed clips as-per a bulletin / case they opened with GM, but have not had a chance to drive it since their still waiting for the heater core to come in.

They mentioned that they replaced the service managers seat frame for the same issue.

Thanks, I think I'm going to talk to my dealer about it and see. I know they are waiting for parts on my rear window, might as well get the seat parts on order too.

Glad i dont have the sliding window. Any other issues? Any antifreeze / maple syrup smell?

Had the seat track replaced about 2 weeks ago. So far this seems to have fixed the problem.

Had the clips installed on both seats last week. Now it seems as the cluck and slipping is worse than it was before!! Instead of feeling it during braking and turns it can be felt with the slightest bump or turn. Looks like another trip to the dealership. I have also noticed that my leaf springs have started squeaking pretty bad!

I heard GM's fix for the squeaks is to turn the stereo up.

I've got the clunky seat problem as well. I have the heated and cooled seats, and noticed it when the seat is at the higher end of its adjustment range. The dealership took the seat apart and added more stuffing to it to prevent the leather from moving, which has helped some, but now the cooling doesn't work very well. Also, it still clunks and thunks around corners, just not as bad. The Service writers are still hoping for a technical bulletin that will give them some guidance as to what to do.

While I have seen lots of interesting problems over the years with new vehicles, this one is surprising.

I took mine in a couple weeks ago for the same issue and they replaced the seat frame. No problem now.

So far no smell and really no other issues. This is the best truck I have ever owned. If I had not been told that the rear slider was on a recall list I would have never known it. I'm supposed to schedule my first oil change visit this week and the seat issue has been mentioned.

Yes! There is finally a service bulletin on this issue. I had what felt like something shifting inside the driver's side seat cushion when I turned the vehicle. Had my truck at the dealership twice for this issue and one other that they couldn't seem to fix. On the fourth day of them scratching their heads (today), a service bulletin came through and so far, it seems like that issue is resolved. Btw, I have leather bucket seats w/ heat/cool.

Does anyone have a copy or link to the service bulletin? Thanks

My seat does the same thing. What dealer did you go to for the fix. I would like to take mine to a dealer that has fixed the issue and knows of the bulletin.

On my work order, it states:

Reinspected as per PI 1183. Performed left front seat update. Lubed pivot points and added retainers. Completed as per PI.

Parts used for this PI:

Qty: 2 Part# 11611745 Desc: Retainer 11.373

Qty:1 Part# 12371287 Desc: Lubricant 8.800

So glad I refused to pick up my truck until something was fixed.

    • Even tougher is the 5.0 / 302. That's what this one has.    https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   https://postimg.cc/4n3F3yzY   Just realized I had the airbox removed in the engine pic, lol.
    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
