So, are the seat COVERS moving or it the seat itself moving? Installing a holder for the seat cover (when the seat is moving) seems (I'm sorry_) "uninformed".

Amazing they didn't notice this during the millions of miles of testing they claimed.

Yeah, it's amazing how so many components go to crap when they are in the public domain. Then you get to pay the cost to fix them! All those millions of miles of testing. I thought GM knew how to build stuff, the 700R4, 4L60 E, 6l80, and the 8L90 all problematic, GM is in court all over the country, all because they tried to save a couple of bucks building torque converters on the cheap and charging for a quality converter. Instead they got converters that give the tranny a belly ache. I had an 06 Avalanche, one electrical problem after another, cheapie switches in the door, an old jamb switch out of a '65 Impala would have done the job. Those instrument clusters in the '06s, yeah they were clusters all right, that's for sure. Now we HAVE to have the tranny computer INSIDE the tranny! No wonder the techs are leaving the field of automotive maintenance; look how they build their stuff!

I have a 2015 Silverado LTZ. 136k miles. It has the moving pedals and seat. I never know what they are going to do, the seat sometimes moves forward when you open the door from the outside, sometimes backwards, sometimes there is no movement at all from the rearward or forward positions; funny, it's never in the middle, almost like there is a poor connection (this just occurred to me) so, I will check the plugs under the seat, spray some DeOx2 (an electrical contact cleaner and lube) and see what happens. My scanner shows no codes in the BCM.

Checkout this video on you tube. After living with this for 10 years I can't believe it worked. Honestly.. and the best part is it's like a $6 part.

#PIT5542: Front Seat Lateral Movement and/or Unable To Install Front Seat Lateral Retainer When Performing PI1376 Or PI1183 - (Jan 25, 2017)"

For this fix you will need a flash light, zip tie, and GM Part Number 13405675.

That video couldn't have made the fix any simpler. I too have that problem although it's more of a minor annoyance. Only happened mostly when turning left. After watching that video, I may just tackle this and see if it works. The only thing that wasn't exactly clear was the trimming of the part if needed. I imagine that with the part in hand though, if trimming is needed, it will be more obvious. Thank you!

Yeah, I test fitted it and it seemed to clip fine, I ended up trimming mine a bit with a dremel on slow with a sanding tip anyways. If you pause the video you can zoom in and read the SB and it states you "texhnician will have to trim part." So I just trimmed it.

It did seem like the slot that should go on the outboard most flange of that crossbar it clips onto didn't really engage over the flange. So I just clipped it to engage fully on the white clip and tested it and it was fixed. So I just zip tied and called it done.

Hope it helps

Ha! It cost me a grand total of $0.44. I ordered through parts.chevrolet.com and chose to pick it up at a local dealer so no cost for shipping. I used a code that is active right now BODY20 and then used my Chevrolet Rewards to pay for it. All I had to pay was the tax. I should have it in about a week.  Thank you @Julian F

This by far was one of the easiest mods I've ever done.

After 2 weeks of no notification from dealer that the part had arrived, I called up there. Parts guy says the part came in 2 days before and no paperwork. He said it's just been sitting on his counter. He went into the system, found the order, and it had a note that the payment failed! Payment on my end was just going to be $0.44. I told him I would pay it on pickup. When I went to pick it up, he said don't worry about the balance so it basically was free!

I had downloaded the service bulletin to find out what needed to be trimmed off and it was pretty straightforward. I used a small hacksaw and about a minute later, I was done. It took all of a couple seconds to pop it into place and then about 10-15 seconds to zip tie it. Stupid simple. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet but hopefully this cures the annoying slight shifting feeling in the seat base on turns.

Looks like it is a success. No more clunking. The seat does feel a little  different as well as nice and solid now. I wish I had done this sooner.
