I have a new 2015 Suburban LTZ. I have been try to get the DVD player to play the movies for the children in the back of the vehicle using the controls/my link touch screen, however it is not possible. I just got off the phone with Chevy customer service. I was told this is the way it was designed and the only way to play the movie is from the back seats with the remote control! What! No other car, not even last year’s Suburban is like this. All entertainment systems can be controlled/ played from the front. There has to be a fix for this.

Quick glance at the manual, all it says is to use the video app, which I'm sure you knew. That's all it says though. I figured there'd be more detail on playing a DVD in the manual. Do you have the mylink manual? might be more info in there. Hopefully someone with your setup will chime in with more info.

Texas Husker thanks for looking into this. When I put in a DVD the video app. only displays fast forward pause and rewind. There is no play. The 2015 mylink manual says on page 39 and 40 to press play or pause depending on the current selection. However only pause ever displays. Thanks again.

No problem. It is a strange issue. You'd think it'd be possible. I couldn't find anything else on it. Maybe try the 2015 suburban section?

Noticed when the car is in park you can control the DVD player from the front screen. After that you have to use the remote which can be a pain if you are the only person in the car.
