Gear Ratio's and Final Drive Spreadsheet

I'm placing this here because so often I see the gear ratio debate and it's often very subjective. I see a lot of posts picking on GM for even offering 3.08 gears and new owners being discouraged by having 3.08 axles. To understand this more completely I think a chart that shows the final drive ratio's of the Six Speed and how they stack up to the Four Speed Autos with common axles ratios. You can see 3.08 gears compare very well to the 4 speed with 4.10 gears and I can still remember when that was plenty of gear.

Thanks for posting....although I don't really see the need for including the 3.55 ratio, as GM has never offered it. It's always been 3.08, 3.23, 3.42, 3.73, and 4.10.

There is still a 3.23 axle ratio available on 2wd models for 2014 with the 6 speed.....just FYI.
