More power for the 2500?

The gas 3/4 are pretty good, and it takes a good while to make up the difference in price. Overall if you need the full bore D-Max then that is what you should get, but most of us don't so a gasser fits the bill at a lower price point.

I don't like the torque range and shift points of the Duramax. Plus having to add the DEF drives me crazy.

You are officially the first person I have ever read In the last ten years of forum trolling to say the allison/Duramax doesn't work well together lol.

If you don't like the way it shifts, then you for sure aren't gonna like a confused half ton lol...allison is bar none, the smoothest tranny on the market.

What is the issue with the Def? If you are driving enough for it to be a problem then going back to a gasser opens up a whole other can of worms.

You will regret going back to a gasser.. Stop thinking about it and stick with your Duramax. The Transmission is fine. It is one of the best out there. Learn to like it and accept that it is just fine.

Adding def drives you crazy?!? I have 15k on my truck and have filled the def tank 3 or 4 times and it takes maybe 5 minutes to do.... What drives you crazy about it
