Hey guys I was wondering if anyone on here has had or has the issue I'm having currently with my truck? Every time I have the wheels turned to the left or right if it's in drive or reverse (more in reverse) I hear as if something is loose and makes a sorta clunk noise. Every time I go in reverse and the wheels are all the way turned I hear this noise in the bed I even took it to the dealer they said its normal but for what I paid for the truck that noise just irritates me so

Can anyone here help or know of a similar situation

Check the spare tire and see if its loose (kick it if need be). Loose/under-torqued axle u-bolts are also a possibility.

Also, if the leaf springs get enough dirt or road grit between the leafs, it can make them creak and pop. I had this problem after lifting the rear of the truck. I pressure washed them to blow most of the dirt out, then lubricated the plastic leaf spring pads at each end of the 2nd leaf thats clamped to the primary leaf spring.

It could possibly be in the diff.

If you made a video of the sound you're concerned with and uploaded it to youtube for us to view, your chances of figuring it out are improved 10 fold.

I do know for certain it's not the hitch or the spare I checked those right away. The noise does come from around the middle under the bed. It just annoys me so when I'm going in reverse and I hear it. It's kinda like a clunking noise, if I get out and move the bed back and forth I hear it as well. The guy from the dealership heard that noise too but told me it's normal. I know that's not a normal noise I'm taking it Tuesday and making them check it. I'll try and post it on YouTube later today for y'all too

it's the leaf springs... they all do it once they get dirt in them. I have had two of these trucks... the 2014 did it even after they replaced the springs. I traded that truck. Now the new 2016 is starting to do it..

I'm surprised GM allows dealers to replace the leaf spring packs that are probably completely fine.

Pressure washing the leaf ends and spraying dry film graphite spray made mine silent.
