I don't know if I would call it cool, maybe slightly annoying and somewhat unnecessary...but yesterday I was parked on a slight incline, unloading my truck and left it running.  After a couple of minutes I hear that unmistakable whine of the parking brake engaging itself, went to check and sure enough the nanny computers decided I was in danger and applied the parking brake by itself.

I personally like that it does this for you.  Not a bad safety feature.

The cool part is it will automatically disengage when you try to drive the truck.

True, and I can't really think of any major downside at this point but I'm sure I will find it if I own the truck long enough LOL

The only downside I can think of with this new electronic parking brake is the thing engaging on its own when I'm going 65mph down the highway. ?

I know (at least I *think* I know) there are some system safety overrides to keep this from happening, but it's still a freaky thought.

It's not far fetched there are accounts of the parking brake engaging while driving, it's a thing already unfortunately.  You would think when engineering made the decision to role out electronic brake master cylinders and electronic actuated parking brakes they would have been 100% ready for prime time.

We need to get someone working on a wiring diagram to be able to turn on the mirror task lights when the vehicle is driving. If I am driving through the woods at camp during the night, those mirror lights would be real handy

Same here! Those lights could be very useful in many situations while driving or even when locking and unlocking your doors. You shouldn’t have to push the button to get them to come on

The electronic brake periodically exercises itself for a reason likely to prevent a mechanism freeze from disuse......i.e. for those who frequently use Park without also setting the parking brake....theory being use it or lose it. Same algorithm that runs it should also prevent it from activating while truck is moving.

Mirror lights for the woods?......here's what I used when camping and no wiring diagram is necessary......lights hooked onto a 12v transformer plugged into the 110v bed outlet .......operate when parked in Acc. or while driving, conveniently controlled by an existing lighted dash switch.  Next Summer gets replaced with a 40" light bar powered by a 240 watt plug in transformer.

We all know the buttons behind the left hand side of the steering wheel scroll through the presets. What I didn’t realize was that when you hold them down, it acts as a “seek” feature and goes to the next station in numerical order, instead of your next preset! Mind blown. My 16 probably did it too, just never tried it, and the manual doesn’t even advertise it. Only took 4 years to find out.

If I recall, I think there is a setting somewhere where you can flip that behavior so the single press is the next station in order.

Agreed! I also wish there was a way to get the upper cargo lights to come on when unlocking the vehicle with the little hitch light. Even if the task lights turned off when you hit 30 mph would be better than when not working in anything other than park...

While playing in the vehicle customization settings I found one to automatically tilt the side mirrors down when you put the truck in reverse (SLT Sierra).  I didn't see this feature anywhere on the options list when I bought it.  I'm not sure why it's not turned on my default but it's great!!

Boost auto parts has a mod for the spots.
