That’s nice, what size subs does it have, and if it’s not too much to ask, how much and where did you get it?

I purchased it from MTI Acoustics.  I ordered it loaded with subs and amp,  JL 12tw3 and RD1000/1.  At the time I ordered it they were having a sale paid $1260.  I went with the cheaper option, no leather, windows, porting etc.....  That sale is long gone, probably the best one they'll ever have, even better than black friday sale.  And it seems like there pricing went up.

JL Audio System...

Ok, I finally got my system installed. I have a 2019 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab with Bose.  It hits hard and deep and clean.  I did not want to fork out the $1500 for the JL Stealthbox with 2 of their thin 12'' subs.  I've always had the W3s and loved their clean deep sound and didn't want to risk being dissappointed with their thin subs. So I did a lot of research and ended up with the following:  (PLUS, I saved about $500 overall doing it this way.)

I hope this posts helps clarify some challenges/questions.

Amp: JL JX-1000

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Jx500-Mono-Subwoofer-Amplifier/dp/B0081K3M5G/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=jl+audio+amplifier&qid=1570760485&sprefix=jl+&sr=8-4

Amp Wiring Kit: (high quality stuff)

Subs: 2 x JL 10w3v3 4 ohm

Bass Volume Knob:  installed up front under the steering column.  Allows me to turn the bass all the way down -- just Bose system playing. Or up to desired level.

Box: (very happy with quality of build and fitment in my truck) I did apply some additional caulk inside the box where it looked like some of the cracks were missed)

Wiring:

You'll need to determine if you have the 'noise cancelling' feature.  If you do, you'll see a microphone thing on the ceiling above your rear seat.  LLJ Customs can provide you a harness bypass plug as part of your T-harness purchase if you do.  I did not have that feature so all I used was the T-harness.

You'll need to order a Line Output Converter (LOC) with the T-harness from LLJ so that you can get clean signal to your amplifier.  I went with the upgraded "active" LOC -- https://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audio/factory-system-upgrade/lc2i/ -- WHICH LLJ will hook up for you as part of the T-harness purchase.

NOTE: You'll need to remove the back seat from the back wall in order to run your wires and install the Lc2i.  I don't have a picture of it, but my installer used double sided sticky tape to adhere it to the back wall just to the right of some other electronic box that was alread in there. (there's plenty of room on the back wall for it)

Here's a good video that is helpful.  However when he talks about pushing down on the seat locks, don't do that.  I used a long allen wrench to lift up on the hook on top of the locking mechanism which made it much easier.  There are 4 10mm bolts on the bottom you'll have to use an extender to reach.  Once you get them started, you can remove them by hand.

Here are some pics of my install:

Chewpeg,I wanted to ask because you were concerned about the post Bose amp signal and how that would affect your system overall. How did that turn out? Did you have any signal or phase issues ?

Just got my truck done with all new door speakers and one 10” sub all on a 5 channel amp. For the chime just set the gains to what your dsp outputs at and the chime is back to normal.

Sorry for the massive delay here. Yes I was concerned and it came to fruition. There is way too much equalizing and whatever else they do in that Bose DSP to get a clean signal. The only saving grace was using Dirac live to tune it but it’s still not good enough. I’m going to purchase the nav-tv which totally removes the Bose amp which I am extremely excited to use. Hoping for a Black Friday deal :)

Can anyone help me on what wire or fuse they tap into for a 12v ignition source for the amp box?

I tied into the Center console USB plug that faces the rear. Couldn’t find anything with the amp and that USB worked nicely.

How difficult was it to get to those wires? I’m looking to add a USB port inside the console and was thinking about using those.

Very easy. The console comes off in pieces. Couple screws in the cup holder and plastic trim pieces to take off. I was impressed how easy it was.

That NavTV unit looks fantastic.Pricey but it takes the Databus signals and converts them into analog signals for an amp.I'm very surprised they don't come with the speaker output connectors for the other 2 plugs at the Bose amplifier.Maybe they sell them separately?

The idea here is you want a clean signal to go to the amps. The Bose amplifier really messes with the output. You can buy/get made separate adapters for the amp but if your buying this your looking to add amps. I’m super excited to get this unit and hoping for a Black Friday deal to pick this up. I’m going to use toslimk to a minidsp. Going to be amazing!!!

I completely agree with your comment. I was able to get the best Sound I ever had in all of vehicles. I love the way the Jl audio Fix gave me options and EQ settings as well as Fiber optic sound to My Jl audio Vi amps.

I have a fix 86 but may not end up using it. I picked up a Helix dsp3 and hope it can clean up the incoming signals. If not I’ll go navtv for simplicity.

If you’re using a basic LOC for a sub I would highly suggest getting a dsp. You’re missing out on 50% of your bass without it even using a bass knob to try and boost the signal.

    • My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.
    • Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
    • Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Years later, your thread is still helping Silverado owners.   I bought my 2025 Silverado 1500 in January 2025, and I've had what feels like the exact same rattle since day one. After reading your findings, I believe my truck has the same issue with the cable carrier contacting the rear sliding window. To be honest, I had pretty much given up on pursuing the issue. It wasn't until I recently drove another brand's pickup that I realized just how quiet their cabin was—and how noisy mine has been all along. On my truck, the rattle happens on almost any paved road, gets even worse on rougher pavement, and I can even hear it during braking and acceleration.   I actually referenced your thread when submitting my case to GM, hoping they'll recognize this as a recurring issue instead of treating it as an isolated incident. The reason I reached out to GM first is because my dealership told me they would need to keep the truck for at least two days just to diagnose the problem. I was concerned that even after two days, they still might not be able to identify the source of the rattle before giving the truck back to me. I had also asked a few dealerships about this issue during previous service visits, but none of them seemed to know what was causing it or had a solution. That's why I decided to contact GM directly first, hoping they might already have an official repair procedure or guidance for this issue.   I also hope GM eventually comes up with an official fix for this problem. I have a feeling there are many Silverado owners experiencing the same rattle, but most either choose to live with it or simply don't know what the cause is.   Really appreciate you taking the time to document your diagnosis. Your post is still making a difference years later.
    • I have 2 choices.
    • Do you have access to BP fuels? Some stations have Silver 91 E-0 priced the same as their 93 E-10.  There is a local Marathon with 90 alky free for $6 a gallon but I go down the road to BP for $5-ish. They also have a 100 E-0 but that stuff is $10 a pop.
