Document everythink! Also keep a running journal of your events and attempts to have it fixed.

Have a transmission shop, pay them.....to diagnose this issue for your records. Contact GM and inform them you still have an issue with your truck, if they do nothing, send a registered letter to them about your concerns again.

Then follow your states lemon laws if they refuse to cooperate or attempt to fix your vehical.

Be firm, punctuation, and calm keeping notes and documening events.

I feel for you, GM is ruining there future, and no one should be treated this way!

There is vibration issues with this truck, and it is being dealt with case by case so to protect the trucks image.

Keep it together and keep fighting.

Update on repairs. So far roadforce balanced all under 15, replaced partially seized front axle, replaced drive shaft and just went up today to pick it up from replacing ring and pinion. still have vibration. I took the service manager for a ride, he felt vibration. We took his personal 2014 for a ride, same vibration, he said he just got used to it. The 2014 loaner I have has same vibration. I went to another dealer and test drove another truck. told salesman about vibration problems so he went with me, he felt vibrations.

I currently have an open accelerated GM case with the resolution center and filed with the better business bureau for arbitration. I contacted the resolution center to let them know that the parts were put in and it still was not fixed. Their reply was that it looks like the vibration will considered part of the normal operation of the truck. my reply was Who in the right mind would buy a vehicle that the normal operation of the vehicle would have vibrations! Also if that was their stance, I wanted it in writing. time for some media involvement if that is going to be the case. They are to call me back on Monday with more information. I did make it a point to leave my truck at the dealer because it is still not fixed.

Purchased my new 2014 GMC Sierra Denali July 7, 2014. During my test drive, did feel the vibration, but after I purchased it, drove off the lot going home on the freeway, the vibration started immediately around 65-80mph. In addition, I also felt every ripple in the road while on the freeway. Owned a lot of cars and trucks, never felt the ripples.

Once I got home I took my wife for ride, she was wondering why this new truck was vibrating her out of her seat. She thought the Denali was supposed to be the best. This made me even more angry.

I feel the same, I don't want to give me truck to the dealer without know what they are going to do to fix it.

GM - I was going to buy a Ford Raptor after test driving my friend's, but was excited about the EcoTech3 and always wanted a Denali, the 6.2L is AWESOME. I paid the extra money for the better ride, its not there. Oh yeah, what happened to putting better tires and the Bilsteins on these trucks???? I have an appointment with my Lawyer to discuss options based on all these threads.

To recap, my 2014 has the shake at 65 mph and up.

First service visit resulted in RF balancing. It made it a little better, not as severe, but still there.

Second service visit for shake was total dealer denial. No problems found, unable to duplicate.

I called GM.

Third service visit was for a loud bang/thump under the truck when accelerating from a stop. Dealer said unable to duplicate. No problems found. When I went to pick it up, I took the service manager for a ride to demonstrate the bang. He heard and felt it. Said it was normal.? WTF? He also would not ride far enough to demo the shake. Nearest smooth interstate to the dealer is 15 mi away. He said the shake was normal, bang/thump was normal and he was not going to do anyhting else for me about either one.

I spoke to my GM rep about all this. She said that since the service manager said it was fine, GM wouldnt help anymore with it.

Went to another local Chevy dealer and they wont get involved, although they did an around the block ride along and a GM tech confirmed that the bang/thump wasnt normal. They declined to ride along for a shake demo.

I have owned this shaking banging Silverado for about 3 weeks, it has less than 1k miles. Im not happy with all this at all. Its extremely frusrating to be repeatedly stonewalled like this.

This thread is huge. I didnt want to start another topic on the same problem here, so I did it on another site.

I will update here too.

Sounds like you need a lawyer.

This is all just crazy! I can't believe the number of issues and all of the run around from GM and the dealerships! I have taken mine in twice now for the vibration around 45, which is real bad in the steering wheel, as well as over 72 or so, which is felt in the seat and seems to come from the rear of the truck. First time they balanced tires, which helped slightly on the higher speed vibrations, but seemed to worsen the 45mph vibration! Second trip they road force balanced and it didn't change a thing. 3 were single digits and 1 was 13, so none were bad at all. The service manager drove 2 other trucks, 1 with me and they all had similar vibrations, so her conclusion was the tires caused it and it's normal! I could tell they weren't going to do anything else, so I contacted GM. After 1 week, I still had not received the call back I was promised so I called back and left a VM to which my assigned rep called me back within 24hrs. They now are sending me to a different dealer for another opinion. I've always had GM vehicles and I so want to love this truck, however I am really starting to wish I would have looked more seriously at the Dodge or Ford or Toyota!! Ugh!!!!!!

And it has been over 24 hours and the second dealer still has not contacted me, although I was told they would be calling me to arrange the appointment!

Be patient and keep fighting guys. Never lose your temper either. I've been dealing with this since march 17th. Today I went to my dealer and order a 2015 cc. The buyback lady says we r doing a substitute of collateral so nothing in my loan changes. It takes time just be persistent. I know its a pita call everyday several times a day if you have to!

Best of luck with the 2015 hopefully that solves the problem.

We'll see. 6-8 weeks to build is what I'm told

Timfactor, who do you have the truck financed thru? GM or another bank? I am at the point of Lemon Law in PA. IF I can get another truck with the same options that doesn't vibrate then I would be happy. I wasn't sure how they do a buy back when you have a loan so you don't lose money.

I went through a different bank. Well I do lose a little money. I have to pay for taxes and tags again and a usage fee. Since my truck was back at Chevy on the second day I had it with less than 300 miles on it I have to pay 118.

Figured I had nothing to lose so I called my GM rep yesterday morning and gave her the contact info on the second opinion Chevy dealer, even though they said they wouldnt work on it, maybe they would tell her its broken. GM rep called me back later and said the second opinion dealer service manager now says my truck bang/thump/shudder is NORMAL. WTF?

The GM tech from there that rode with me was amazed that my selling dealer was telling me it was normal.

How do you get a buyback or trade assistance? Do you start demanding it or do you have to wait until they offer it? I want out from under this lemon.

timfactor, there shouldnt be any tax, you are trading even up. I can understand tags. that usage fee seems high for only 300 miles. Pa lemon law says $.10 per mile. I waited till 2600 miles, I hope there is no big fee if they do the same for me.

I'm pretty sure GM said taxes and tags. I'll let you know in 6-8 weeks

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.
    • How about them NICKS!!!
    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
