did we definitely determine if the 2500s have this as well? I debated buying a 13/14 2500 when I got mine (and oh how I now wish I would have), and if I get out of this one it will almost certainly be to a 3/4 ton of some flavor.

They are waiting for a new rear end 'to be built' I think is last I heard from service mgr. Whatever that means.

there is a thread for the HD trucks about the vibration. it doesnt seem anywhere near as wide spread though

This may be the case because I don't believe GM sells even half the number of HD trucks as 1500 trucks.

I believe it is a combination of motor and tranny mounts as well as body cab mounts. More or less the cab mounts.

The HD trucks have had the same frames and drivetrain components since 2011 and never heard of any issues until they put these new body styles on top of these frames

I believe you are correct with the sales numbers, I was merely answering the question by saying that there was a related thread.

From what I have read someone should to create a google doc/ excel type spreadsheet so we can try to see if a certain combination is more likely to create this issue. I think there needs to be many fields. Like what size rims, tires, diff ratio, engine, tire size, build date, what speed is the vibration, what is the fix, owners notes, etc.

First thing this morning, I take my 2015 Silverado LT CC in for the fifth time for vibration issues. They plan to go back to 20" wheels because they blame the 22" wheels. You can see my history in my previous posts. One other time I had it in the shop they gave me a truck to drive and it drove just fine. When they blame my complaints on the road conditions I kept telling them that the loaner truck you gave me didn't vibrate on the same roads. This past weekend my son was in town with his 2007 Sierra that I bought new, it now has 145,000 miles on it. I drove it on the same roads and even it with bald tires rides much better and does not vibrate. So the kicker is they gave me a loaner today to drive and it has 100 miles and vibrates really bad. what the heck is going on?? Is Chevy really that bad now? Are they trying to show me that this is the new norm? Wow, if it is they will be out of business soon. Just not acceptable to me that a truck with 145,000 miles is a better riding truck than a brand new $40,000 truck. We will see but I really doubt that the 20" wheels will make any difference. Vibration Frustration continues.

I have an appointment tomorrow with the service group. I want them to concentrate on the steering wheel vibrations that 2 sets of tires and countless RF balance will not fix. I want them to look at these:

1. Front shocks suck - feels like no dampening in them I feel every road imperfection

2. Possible motor mount needs shimmed or is loose

3. Anything else you would suggest????

Anyone know if the 2016's have this issue?

The 16s are the exact same as the 14 and 15 MY's with a redesigned front fascia

The problem will be fixed when GM runs out of defective parts to install on new trucks.

It could just be a bad run of parts ......

Update on my situation (2014 Rally 2 edition). Ive been going back and forth with GM and the BBB and GM asked for one more chance to fix it saying they would put their regional engineer on it. I dropped my truck off to the dealer this morning so the GM eng can take a further look at it. I get a call a few minutes ago and the GM eng thinks the vibrations are cause from the exhaust system lol. I didnt put up a fight when they told me that but in the back of my mind I know there is no way that will fix the issue. Regardless, the truck is getting a new exhaust. Ill report back once I pick it up and test drive it on the highway but per our agreement if GM didnt fix it this time we would go to arbitration.
