Acceleration 6.2 or 5.3. Gears 3.42 or 3.73

The 6.2 will run circles around the 5.3. AND is faster than Ford Ecoboost too. As far as fuel mileage, From all the post I've read I am getting around 1mpg less than a 5.3. Well worth the cost IMO. What's not fun about 400+ HP and TQ under your foot?? :driving: and the stock exhaust on these trucks sound great too

I'm all for a big v8 of course. But what you said is debatable. Custom tune vs custom tune the ego boost will walk a 6.2.

Love driving my 2010 NHT

Now we are modifying them? Lets just put a set of twin turbos on the 6.2 and see who wins. A stock 6.2L will take a stock ecoboost. And if we are modifying them the 6.2 has a lot more potential too.

Lol. You don't know me from a hole in the wall... He said he wants to go fast, that's by far the cheapest way to go actual fast in a truck...not made up fairy tail land fast. All personal attacks aside. Tell me more about how a vehicle that weighs 3 tons can't be fast? I personally know 2 Duramax guys with RCLB duramax's that are in the 12's with stock turbo/stock tranny. Lift pump and tune only. And they pull rv's on the weekend. One has over 200k miles and still gets 23-25mpg. As big and bulky as mine is it'll walk all over modern muscle cars as well. A guy I have on fb just broke record for fastest street driven crew cab Duramax the other day, ran 9.4xx. My point is trucks can go fast. You can talk about decade old vehicles all you want, this isn't 10 years ago. This is 2013.

I didn't mean that as an insult entirely, more just a poke at ya nothing personal. And I know trucks can be fast, but if youre going to argue muscle/sport cars mod for mod etc for speed its pointless. There's no comparison.

I think the big diesels are sick BTW. I'd like to have one.

Oh for sure, pound for pound dollar for dollar cars are fast. LSx fox body. I want one lol.

My buddie Rclb lbz is amazing, bought it used for under 30k. Straight pipe, tune, lift pump, transgo jr and it's a rocket. Keeps up to mine. I'm running twice the boost. He's doin twins/tranny soon, it'll hit 11's.

They are fast, I agree with that. But in a truck I would rather have a larger NA motor over a modified v-6 to get the same power output. How long do you suppose it will hold up?

I have a 2011 SLT with the 5.3 and 3.08 rear end with a leveling kit and 34" trail grapllers and just did 0-60 in 6.30 seconds with nothing but a tune

No matter which motor you choose....3.73 rear will make you happier. If you do more highway driving the 6.2 might get you consistently better MPG's, too.

Don't think that the 6.2 being bigger means less MPG's....it can spend more time in that v4 mode.

I don't know about everyone else, but for a truck, it moves. I am pleased with the power. I've walked dodges and fords. I even dusted a 6.2l raptor. No conplaints from me.
