I've had the recent update and I still get distortion. More so on certain stations. Stations are fine on my other vehicles so idk what the distinction is about the hd radio. Dash speakers sound too high pitched with feedback, static. Even with treble low.

I need your advise. I own a 2014 SLE Truck. I too have been disappointed by the HD Radio. I have been told by Autonatjon of GMC in Memphis that the radio will lose the signal due to the lack of repeaters in the area. Now another issue has surfaced. I own over 3000 cd tittles. They are all store bought. However the cd player plays the music but does not display the title or track information. Could Gm not have designed a better radio player? I almost ready to purchase another radio.

The radio is not the only thing that determines if the track info from the CD shows, the CD has to be encoded with the track info as well.

TJay In an earlier post you wrote the next update may address the HVAC issues on remote start. Does this mean they are looking to make the seats actually heat on high under remote start? My truck goes in for the radio update 2/25 . Thank you for helping with all the issues.

I doubt it, the HVAC issues are separate completely. I only mentioned that I said something to the engineer about the HVAC operation on this truck compared to prev GM vehicles.

I had new radio installed in mine and the other service bulletins done, radio is OK I am not a big listerner to anything but talk radio etc. Every once in a while I have radio fade on AM and FM on music channels or talk radio and I hit menu and the radio has gone back into HD mode, I turn it off radio is OK for days sometimes weeks then out of know where it will activate the HD again and things drift till I turn it off???

I have a 2014 that can't hold a station either. A note to those who think theirs is working.. it seems as though static is not bad.. just HD keeps dropping out.. Very annoying once you key into it..

I posted this in a separate thread but I will post here as well..
I recently picked up a 2015 Silverado LT, and I am having issues with my Pandora now. I got my truck and phone paired up without any issues. However when I go to play anything on Pandora it works fine, then all of a sudden will start skipping.

To me, it seems like it is buffering and the music just pauses, then starts up again. It really is annoying to say the least. So I tried using my USB cable to see if that stopped the problem. Nope. still does it. Then I had another friend refer me to the music app spotify. So I downloaded that and tried using that, and I am getting the same issue.

I have a good friend who works at Chevrolet and he told me there is no new updates for the silverados, and they have not heard of the same issue going on. Am I the only one, or is there other individuals experiencing the same issue?

I've had this issue with Pandora lately too. I'm not aware of any changes to the iPhone and I haven't had my truck in for any kind of service yet.

...as for the FM reception - I'm surprised so many people are having problems. I live in Texas and pickup FM stations from both LA and NYC. <confused>

I have a work truck model with the base radio and I have the exact same issue. The 2013 I traded in for this new body style had no issues what so ever with tuning in my favorite FM stations. Since buying this truck I constantly loose stations or I get static on a regular basis. I took it to the dealer and they claimed there was nothing wrong with it. LOL

If anyone has a solution let me know.

Today now I have had many issues at all with my Pandora or Spotify. I haven't changed anything on my phone, or the car. I was actually going to take the truck into the dealership to get looked at, but since it was working, I decided to leave it be, until I have issues again.

I've had the same issues with my fm and hd reception. The dealer hooked it to the computer and now it's actually worse. I will be going back in for an oil change soon and see what they do with it then.

I have a 2014 HC with 20k miles on it. Took mine in for radio issues and was told GM is aware with no fix. Well for $53k I can get a loaded Ford FX4 with a working radio. I'm about to make the switch if GM doesn't get off their ASS and fix this. Add to my list the vibration at 70 mph as well.....geez....Ford's warranty isn't better but who cares when my Chevy is in the shop every other month with no fix...

hmmmm... and all this time I thought the crummy radio was just normal. I'll add this to the list of things to take up with my dealer.

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.

    • I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe with 148,******. I used to have a 2006 Suburban that had the push button Auto 4X, 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo. When checking out this truck I noticed it had push button but didn’t focus on it. After the purchase when driving home, this is when I noticed it was different and after a little research found out it has the AWD stabilitrak system. I don’t live in an area that requires AWD. I bought the truck to start a new adventure in life with off roading, now that the kids are all grown up. I purchased the truck knowing it didn’t have the G80 rearend but plan on re-gearing to drive on 33s or 35s and upgrade with a rear locker and still be able to tow when needed. Blah Blah Blah Anyway I know am thinking about converting the stabilitrak  to Z71. I know I will have to replace the transfer case. So now the information gathering stage is happening to see if it is worth it. Is the front AWD stabilitrak differential different when compared to a non-AWD front diff? Will I need a completely different front differential or can it be converted? What else should I be considering? I did see something in a video for GMT900 platform with removing the ABS fuse that disables the stabilitrak and turns the truck into a 2 wheel drive. Would that work in the GMT800 platform?
