So can I get a recap of what this exactly does? I read a few of the pages and I just seem lost a little. I think its because im dead tired. This seems really cool and if it is what I think it is, I will definitely have to buy it.

 

All Lockouts removed such as Nav Entry as well as DVD/Bluray and Video Files!

Addition of the SMS Texting Application to read texts to you while you drive (feature set varies by phone)

Welcome sounds added back in to the unit (with volume control and on/off switch)

Adds compatibility for DIVX and AVI video formats.

Ok so... How do I make this happen? All I want to be able to do is nav and video in motion possible.

Would this mod work with the nav tool, so you can have a front mount camera too?

The nav tool has tons of issues so we don't make any warranty with that thing one way or the other. Hijacking the MOST bus leads to many problems with other modules.

Been a few years since GPGs and GP days... Anyway, I'm very interested in purchasing this update, and interested in leaning more about other updates that can be made. I'm picking up my new 2014 GMC Sierra this evening, so I was excited to see that something like this is already being worked on! A few questions for you...

 

1) Will this add themes back to GMCs menus? Silverado seems to have it, GMC doesn't.

2) Can you add Zune support? (Dead market, but thought I'd ask)

3) Any way to speed up the time it takes to skip to next song / prev song on an Ipod? Its very slow compared to other vehicles / radios i've used.

4) Do you have access to add the compass near the temp readout on the top of the radio?

5) Any ability to provide additional layouts, gauges, or engine data in the instrument cluster lcd?

 

Also I'm open to do any beta testing if you were to need such a thing.

1. GMC doesn't have themes and honestly the other Chevrolet theme looks like it belongs in a kids car.

3. This is actually device dependent, my 5S used for testing is immediate while older iPods take longer presumably because its still indexing.

4. No, although I think its there from the factory if you have the nav icon in the top tray (been awhile).

5. Yes but thats a separate service/operation and is in the IPC.

When you say thats a separate service/operation and is in the IPC , what does that mean?

Could this also give us the option of shutting off the auto-lock on the doors when you put it in drive? Or is that a different module?

No, thats a different module but we can program those as well.

 

Guys whats available currently (the release version) is whats listed here, please don't turn this into a "but but but could it do X?" thread

Honestly, I didn't even try when I saw bunch of Christmas lights on the dash .

I have a question - what if GM releases and HMI software update - will they undo what you have done? If so what do we do then just curious
