As the harness is sold out at the moment. What is the easier way to make some of the ports work? Can I use the jump seat harness to get at least the inside compartment usb working? I'm not good at cutting and slicing wires.

If you are able to completely extract the jump seat harness, you’ll find a black (6) Pin Connector with a grey USB Cable. These two components can feed the inside hub.

The component I am awaiting for is planned to ship on 2/15.

Can I just add wireless charging to the jumpseat lid?

I know I need this 13521066 but where does it connect to,where is it getting its power from? I have a 2017 and I know the 2018 tray is better what is the part numbers for that?

You can...but you won't have a place to land the plug.  On the back of the console, there is a disconnect.  The entire back panel comes off once you remove the 4 torx screws.  2 of them are hidden behind the rubber mat.  Once the torx are removed, the panel comes off.  The "factory" location for where it gets its power from is the X51L Fuse Panel.  The easier method is to tap/slice into one of the cigarette lighter plugs.

There is still not enough info on the rubber mat as the part #'s seem to be the same between old/new.

Yea I had planned on just picking up Power from the plug. Is the 2018 tray longer than the 2017 non wireless tray.

Question.....

I have a 2014 Silverado I recently purchased. Based on info found in this forum apparently from years ago, I purchased the new console, side panels, and top tray for the console swap.

Am I to understand that you can produce a harness that will allow all the assorted ports on the new console to work?

That’s correct. There are some things to check for though before we can move forward. If you read the first post of this thread, you’ll find 2 different connection types under your passenger seat. You’ll have to determine if you have the 16-Pin connector or the variant 23-Pin.

Jump Seat to Full Center Console Retrofit
Plug and Play Harness by PGAMBOA

For those of you looking to swap your Jump Seat to a Full Center Console, I now have a Plug and Play Harness for this upgrade!  This long awaited - PnP Harness will allow you to EASILY perform this upgrade.  NO cutting or splicing needed!

Center Console - Plug and Play Harness is $125 Shipped to lower 48.  For Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada, please PM me for a quote.

Since there are several versions and configurations of center consoles and truck trim levels, I feel that I have covered a majority of the configurations that are out there.  There will be several assumptions on the ability to perform this upgrade and I’ll try to be as detailed and comprehensive as possible.

Please see the different USB Cable configuration diagrams at the end.

Assumptions:

- 2014-2015 Center Consoles will have different USB Cable requirements than 2016-2017 AND will have different USB Hubs.  The PnP Harness should be compatible, but you MUST verify the connector under the passenger AND the front of the console!  Since this is a custom product, there will be NO REFUNDS on it.

- Center Console MUST have its factory harness intact and not modified.

- Connection under the Passenger Seat AND Front of Center Console must look exactly like the diagram.  There is a variant X314 Connector under the seat, so yours MUST match in order for this harness to adapt.

- Additional GM USB Cables must be purchased separately (based on your console year) to get USB Hubs functional.

- Wireless Charging - Wireless Charging became available on 2016 and 2017 consoles.  If you are looking at adding a Wireless Charging Lid to a 2014-2015 Console, please PM me for requirements.  Also, there are known issues with 2016/2017 Consoles with the Wireless Lid and charging iPhone 8 and iPhone X Phones.  There are workarounds for this that require some form of modification to the charging module.  You can also swap the module for a 2018 Module that DOES charge iPhone 8 and iPhone X phones.  Please PM me for questions on specifics.

- Your truck MUST have an existing 110V AC Outlet AND (1) - 12V DC Cigarette Lighter Plug as you will be reusing those.  My PnP Harness DOES NOT add the 110V AC Outlet if you don’t already have it.  However, I CAN add an additional 12V DC Outlet connection if needed.

- USB Cable connections will come from your HMI (Behind the Glove Box).  You MUST verify that you have the USB Ports available, otherwise, your USB Hubs will not work correctly.

- This PnP harness DOES NOT add any Car Play, Apple Play, or Android Play functionality.  If your truck did not already come with it, you will not gain it.
With this PnP Harness, you ***should*** have ALL the components in your console functional.

Those options include:

Front of the Console:

  • Front - Left USB Hub (Dual USB - 2016/2017or Triple USB Hub 2014/2015 - Uses my Plug and Harness AND a USB Cable from the HMI
  • Front - Left 12V DC Cigarette Lighter Outlet - Uses existing connections (truck must be equipped.  If not, I can custom add this if needed)
  • Front - Right 12V DC Cigarette Lighter Outlet -  Uses my Plug and Play Harness
  • Front - Right 110V AC Outlet - Uses existing connections (truck must be equipped)

Inside Storage Compartment:

  • Inside - Left 12V DC Cigarette Lighter Outlet - Uses my Plug and Play Harness plugged into the front main 42-Way Connector
  • Inside - Right USB Hub - Uses my Plug and Play Harness plugged in the front main 42-Way Connector and USB Cable
  • Inside - LED Lamp - Uses my Plug and Play Harness plugged into the front main 42-Way Connector
  • Wireless Charging Lid (2016-2017 only) - Uses my Plug and Play Harness plugged into the front main 42-Way Connector

Rear of the Console:

  • 12V DC - Cigarette Lighter Outlet - Uses my Plug and Play Harness plugged into the front main 42-Way Connector

THERE IS A LOT TO CONSUME HERE, SO PLEASE PM IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ON THIS.  I WANT ENSURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND ALL THE REQUIREMENT FOR THIS RETROFIT BEFORE PURCHASING.

PM me. Sounds like you have the Rear DVD system style console if you have the HDMI port on the back of the console. My harness will get all the components except for that rear panel. The front of the console should have a black double USB jack with? Can you post some pics?

Also, I’ll need to know if you have a 16-Pin or a 23-Pin connector under the passenger seat.

For example, the USB ports will not pass Apple Play Signal if your truck has it. You can still make it work, but you’ll have to swap both USB hubs (front and inside compartment hub).

Any more info to share on this Phil?

? BIG THIMBS UP for your plug n play harness!!!  Finally found time today to install your harness, and the other necessary usb cables from GM.  Come to find out I don’t have CarPlay passing through to the usb inside the console storage.  That usb will charge, but no Apple play.  I do have Apple at the front usb’s However.

Thanks!

My understanding Is If you have the older USB hub in the inside compartment (the style with the SD card), it won’t pass Car Play. Also, this hub gets its feed from a combination of the 42-Pin plug (aux detect/3.5 aux Jack) via the 6-Pin Connector AND USB from the brown plug at the front of the console. So all 3 conditions need to be met.

- Newer style (2016+ USB Hub)

- USB feed from the brown plug

- My 41pin harness

Hope this helps.

This is how it is on my truck.

If you’re not getting Car Play, most likely, 2 of the 3 conditions are not met.

Hmmmm...,

- i have the 2016+ front usb hub (only 2 USB ports)

- newer style hub in the center console (without SD slot)

- your harness

- GM cable from HMI to front hub, then GM cable from front hub to brown connector @ console.

just as it’s all layer out back on p.1

is it possible the GM cable from front hub to brown connector is incorrect, and not carrying the Apple play signal?  Heck maybe I should double check it’s fully connected....

i would assume, your harness is providing power, and the GM cable is providing data:  so it’s got to be with the cable or the front hub not passing the signal.  The phone will charge fine.

Or secondary USB hub in back is goofy

Update:  I bypassed the front hub, by connecting the GM cable directly from the HMI to the brown connector at the console, and now I have Apple CarPlay working in the console storage.  So that leads me to believe there is a problem with my front hub passing the signal through to the back hub.

Very good troubleshooting! I don’t have all the answers when something doesn’t work and glad you’re able to isolate the issue to the probable cause.
