Got my harness while I was out of town last week. Thanks Phil!!! Didn't take long at all. I won't have it put in for a bit, but I am sure it will be perfect.

Unfortunately the USB’s inside the Console flip up don’t connect to Apple Play!

Glad to hear! If your console USB hub is the later 2016+ version without the SD card slot, that could be a reason CP/AA doesn’t work. Also, make sure you’re using the black/brown cable for this and that the black end is plugged directly to the HMI. If you loop out of the front USB hub (like in my video), they is reportedly not passing the CP/AA signal.

Lastly, check to make sure those usb cables are fully seated.

Console USB under the lid is just 2 USB and a Aux.

 

Green runs from HMI to the USB Hub. Black (USB Hub) to Brown (Brown Connector)

 

AP works just fine with the front USB’s. If that’s what you’re asking/Saying!

So you are using the "output" of the front USB (black port) to the Brown Port.  This is the reported issue of CP/AA not passing out of that "output".  Instead, unplug the black port and route it to the black port of the HMI.  The existing black port cable that is plugged into the HMI is what is under the passenger seat.  So that gets abandoned.  Try that and report back.

That worked!

 

All USB plug-ins pop Apple Play up.

 

Green HMI to USB 

Black HMI directly to Brown Plug.
