Load Capacities when Lowered

I'm thinking of lower my truck and the other day I saw a lowered RCSB Z71 carrying what looked like a refrigerator in the bed, which made me think:

How much carrying weight capacity is lost when lowering the rear of your truck by 2,3,4 or 5 inches before bottoming out?

Lowering by itself wont affect load rating. That said it will take a bunch of preload out. That is, the truck sits high stock so that it's near level peak load. Remove the rake and you've removed the travel. You can get it back with air bags.

If you aren't removing any springs from the leaf packs, or changing them out, etc. you won't affect your payload.  Once you start changing spring packs, removing leafs, changing front springs, then you start messing with payload.  Same with tires, if you put a lower load rating tire than spec, you have cut the capacity of the truck.

Will a flip kit affect the payload or pre-load as Bear had mentioned?
