General Motors is recalling certain 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade vehicles. Electric power steering (EPS) assist may be lost momentarily, followed by a sudden return of EPS assist. That can cause - and has caused - crashes. 30 so far that GN knows about. Luckily, nobody has yet been killed. GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. GM has not yet provided NHTSA a notification schedule. So why wait? You can check the VIN of your vehicle right here.

Does this recall sound familiar? The Detroit Free Press reports GM recalled 2014 model year vehicles for the same problem last year. Too bad GM didn't fully identify the issue then. 30 owners would not have been in a crash.

Hmmmm, yeah, lets have module-controlled electronic steering using components built in the 3rd world, and the cheapest possible wiring and connections ever invented. BRILLIANT idea, GM! Way to work!

Lets make it ALL electronic! Waiting to see tire modules, windshield modules, gas cap modules ...

Electronics are where it's at! :uhoh:

The dealer might not yet be ready to do the recalls yet.

They're probably trying to figure out how the system operates ... along with the people who designed it.
