Wait a while bud it’s a matter of time you”lol be banging your head saying all these people were right. Just give it some time . My Neibour just bought a high country soon as he hit 2000 Kim the banging and shifting problems started his is a 2019 so what’s the deal there does he not have the latest software then ? What’s the excuse there the dealer told him the transmission has to relearn lol lol . Sounds like the old excuse from the 2016 ‘s on don’t you think.

Like I already said once already. Idiots were saying the same shit 5 years ago when I had a 2014. My truck was solid and reliable. Every single thing guys claimed "all these trucks have this problem" never happened. YOU may have bought a lemon. You are not a snowflake. Just because you had a problem means NOTHING to anyone else. Go pound sand.

Its All bull Crap There isn`t any transmission fluid going to fix a failed designed Transmission. I had the flush done twice with the Mobile 1 Hp Stuff if anything its worse. just another string a log move by GM. then they tell you to drive it for another 200 mile so it relearns. LOL LOL seems like all gm products have learning disabilities. The service advisors get trained on that phase when they cant fix shit. LOL . i the men time you drive it for another few hundred k`s and thats how they get rid of you for awhile

Next up:

Just put regular oil in your dif, Hypoid oil is just a moneymaker.

Limited dif additive? Snake oil!

Power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid.....its all the same

Slip yoke clunk is always an issue with a truck with a relatively softly tuned leaf-spring suspension and 1-piece driveshaft. It's only become a "problem" as metros decided to buy their first truck and don't understand something inherent in the design of the truck they bought. The F-150 has gotten the exact same complaint for years for the very same issue.

AMEN!!!

Too many crybaby noob truck owners wanting their Cowboy Cadillac to be an actual Cadillac on here.

Every truck I have owned with an auto trans has done this, with my AT4 being the quietest if I even hear it at all.

Why? Because I haven't had a problem with my trucks? Like I said, idiots said the exact same shit you're saying now. GUESS WHAT. It didn't happen! Not in five years of owning the truck. It started every time, the AC blew cold every time, the brakes worked every time, the transmission worked every time, etc. Get a life.

Cant really call people idiots for warning you of potential problems.  Sounds like your 50k over priced turd has got you thinking like the "Idiot"

Are you slow?

These problems are important for people to hear about.  How can these brake, trans, motor etc... not  be important for other people to learn about.?  The issues are import to discuss and many times sharing these issues help people resolve them.

Which is why I shared information on the reformulation of Dexron HP. THAT helps people. Guys like you and Benelli, going around repeating over and over "the 8-speed is junk", "your transmission is going to fail give it time", "GM trucks are junk" DO NOT help anyone. All you are doing is trolling this forum day in and day put, every post spreading nothing but FUD aka Fear Uncertainty Doubt. Interesting how you've been on this forum all thos time, yet ALL you ever do is post FUD comments.sure

Sure I can. It began when he quoted my post which contained useful information direct from the manufacturer and GM service managers. That quoted information was part of a discussion between GM reps. It wasn't the typical PR garbage, it was a conversation between people servicing the GM 8-speed. Benelli claims it didn't work for his 2017. If it didn't work, GM says the next step is to replace the torque converter because the TCC is likely glazed due to the old Dexron HP fluid. That's also not taking into account the fact that there were design changes made to the 8L90 between the 2017's and the 2019's. I have read some of the documentation on those changes myself. He had no business interjecting his baseless claims and personal opinions into a conversation, acting as if it was a matter of fact. If the fluid didn't fix the problem, GM themselves say that the TC is to be replaced. End of story. It's the same old shit that always comes up on this forum. Somebody had a problem with their truck, so they make it their mission to piss and moan about all GM trucks, telling everyone else that their truck is junk and that "it's just a matter of time", "just wait and see". Well GUESS WHAT. That's the same kind of FUD garbage that guys were telling me when I had my 2014. They said my AC was going to fail, wax fall off the frame, have a steering rack fail, have a computer failure, the brakes were going to warp, the silver paint was going flake off, the fuel injectors were going to fail, it was going to start burning oil, and the rear axle was going to develop "Chevy shake". NOT ONE of those issues ever happened with that truck. WOW I guess I'm just the luckiest M-F***** on the planet! Oh wait, I guess I'm just "wrapped around GM's finger" because I'm not spending my whole day telling everybody their truck is junk and going to fail at any moment.

Man you really have this chip on your shoulder about people relaying their issues.

You have your head WAY too far up GMs ass! I almost feel bad for you.

There's difference between "relaying" an issue and spamming a forum constantly. Especially when you start telling everyone that their trucks are junk, they're all junk, and "just wait give it time yours is going to fail even if it's working perfectly". Ever since you joined this forum, ALL you have done is trolled and spammed.

ok.... and all you ever post are poorly put together sentences to try and defend GM on EVERYTHING. Not sure why you are so obsessed with trying to correct people and tell them their complaints aren't valid. Like I said your head is way to far up GM's ass for you to even make a rational post.

Sure. You claim one of the more rational, educated and helpful members of this forum only posts "poorly put together sentences" as you, yourself, write a poorly put together sentence with errant punctation and spelling.

I just found it ironically amusing. ??

Show me where I "claim" this? I never once stated any of that?

    • Congratulations Isttype, on your gmc. Really like my 2024 2500hd sle doublecab now with 85,500 miles.  I checked the oil today at 4800 miles since last oil change and barely reading on the stick.  I don't care if GM says it's Acceptable adding a quart every 2000 miles because that is 100% BS, It is not a 1966 Harley Shovelhead! Sounds like it's setting up a future failure like I had with my 1500 6.2l. Other than oil consumption problems, I really like the 6.6l gas and 10 speed is really nice.  Towed a light 4000 pound trailer last week and averaged 14 mpg.  I was pretty impressive that a 7300 pound gas truck did 14mpg towing, Later-
    • Long Term Cold Cycle Limited Testing   Back to the 1990's and XOM's million mile test. Since then there have been others and there will be more. Schaeffer's, AMSOIL to name two. Of these Schaeffer's is the stand alone which I will explain in a bit later.    http://papers.sae.org/600190/:   http://papers.sae.org/850215/:   Up to 75% of  engine wear occurs on cold starts. These two links (above) provide the technical reasons for engine wear. In a nut shell, and by a large margin, cylinder wear is what takes out most motors and even with a pre-oiling system that part of the engine is dry enough on cold starts and cold warm up to pierce Stribeck.   So when you put a motor, or a car, on a dyno for a million miles stopping only for oil changes, (yes fuel is uninterrupted) or break down maintenance, you are depriving the test of the most important part of it's wear cycle. Yes a million is then a pretty easy walk even for a mineral oil under those conditions.    How about cleanliness during the long test cycles? Same thing. Varnishes that stick rings and insulate parts are laid down by repetitive 'heat cycles'. It's the cool down the precipitates the varnishes. These long runs also hinder acidic attack caused by cold start richness and less than optimal cold start ring sealing. They hinder water formation and enhance breathing of the crankcase; the petri dish of acid formation, the first step in sludge formation, amalgamation and precipitation. These motors are also monitored and controlled for water and oil temperatures to within the "normal operating range".      https://www.swri.org/sites/default/files/sequence-iiih-test.pdf Note the test sequence in some boutique oils literature for testing, API IIIH, is not the standard used for the ILSAC G7 testing. Does that mean it is irrelevant? No, not as used. As used as a 'visual guide' it makes it's point. The G7 weighted piston deposit minimum is lower.      Back to Schaeffer's. That was a cyclical test of an engine in fleet service and not a dyno mule and if you saw the video it was not mirror clean but wear was low.    There are oils like BioSyn and other 'Renewable" source oils that taught cleanliness and have proven themselves in fleet testing. Havoline an other example.    The newest ILSAC G-7 test prioritize cleanliness, LSPI mitigation and fuel economy OVER WEAR. In comparison Porsche C30 Specification Verses ILSAC G-7 Specification below:      Some will balk that this graph isn't apples to apples and I will challenge that in that this graph represent the SPECIFICATION and not the any One Oil Performance.   It is absolutely possible to minimize wear, maximize cleanliness and mitigate LSPI etc., It just isn't cheap and currently I see none that are not walking toward profit over performance.
    • I don't think you will need a split, separate product, etc., the OBD port should be able to deliver everything you need. Since your device would be plugged into it all the time, it wouldn't miss anything.    Hardware in this case will be the easiest part of your project - ELM 327 devices will already deliver all the data you need. Reporting/software is where your advantage/marketability is.
    • I do too. I’ll never be stuck again 😂
    • It has happened to me a few times. I carry a jumpstart-tire inflator with me.
