I waited several extra months for the AT4's release to purchase my truck.  Less than 1 day of light driving and 70 miles into my new truck the transmission started to slip in and out of gear.  I pulled into a parking lot and when I shifted into revers the truck slowly rolled forward.  Onstar had a flat bed tow truck there within an hour to bring the day old truck back to the dealer.  The dealer can not start work on the truck until GM approves the new transmission.  I am told that there is a lot of extra paperwork and approval because there are so few miles and it is a new truck.  I would think that GM would want to maintain their customer loyalty and support their new designs before aggravating buyers of new trucks.  I have been a lifelong GM buyer, but thinking that i should have gone with a Ford or Ram.  Has anyone else had to wait for repairs on a brand new vehicle?

Ever get the problem fixed.

Jim

I have a brand new 2019 High Country with repeated check engine light and what I suspect to be a transmission issue. At light acceleration there is a deep rumble/vibration that gets progressively louder the longer you drive. Seems to be in the 12-1500 rpm range at varying speeds. If you accelerate or release throttle all together it goes away. Service tech went for a ride with me and said it maybe the planetary gears. I said ok but it still doesn’t sound normal. Truck is month old and currently in the shop for the 4th time. This is after trading in my 2017 Denali that saw the shop 18 times in 2 years. It was so bad GM gave me an incentive to buy the next one - which is turning out to be a big POS too.

there were design changes made to the 8L90 between the 2017's and the 2019's. I have read some of the documentation on those changes myself.

can you post some links

Is this supposed to be an insult?

Looks like you were eating alphabet soup with your mouth open, and whatever letters hit the keyboard were posted.

How do I know it was alphabet soup?

Cause neither alphabet soup nor your post has any punctuation.

Thanks for the gold star. But I think it would look better on your trailer door.

My 2019 AT4 is at the dealership waiting for a new transmission. Mine only has a leak that they can't fix. Did you get your truck back? any issues? if so how long did it take? I know that the GM strike caused a delay on parts. I had to wait about a month to get the seals when they tried to fix the leak the first time.

WOW I DAY old.

I have 9800 miles on MY AT4 delivered 5 19 2019 and I am now waiting 2 weeks on a new Transmission.

What is going on at GM??

I had 2 Chev. Tahoes each with 180K and never a concern.

How long did it take for the repair and how is it running now?

Probably the 8 speed. My had new fluid flush with that new Mobile 1 crap . It made it worse. When you call the service department and complain that same issue is there . They say “strange we dont get many in with transmission problems” lol lol . I think Gm has a special course they send there service reps too instruct them how to blow smoke up peoples a**.
