It's not just age, it's all the fat people that can't do it. When your belly is too big to even see your pecker, you have issues with that sorta stuff..........?

Have to agree 20 years ago I could jump in the bed now I have to watch my footing , my grip. Age sucks. Not the best look but at this point In my life will take functionality over looks.

Preference is preference. I can’t knock anyone’s preference. I just don’t get why pushing and pulling a button is so sac religious? And if it’s a clean out of the way look like the bee SUVs I welcome it. One thing I was wondering is if the lower trims will still get the stick ? While higher trims get the buttons ?

I just bought my wife a new 2020 Acadia and it has this gear selector to it. And yes, at first it’s different, but now WE love it. The whole center console area is free and open. I like my column shifter but if GM adds this to their trucks and give us a high performance truck, I won’t hesitate to snag one up. Come on GM gives us a street truck and off road truck. A 7.0l supercharged truck would be where it’s at!

A blown LS7. Wow wouldn’t that be something. Not a chance in hell though you and I both know. I’m curious though if a real TRX/Raptor competitor is in the works for GM. They are really missing the train here.

That GM Authority article has no real confirmation on the column shifter going away than saying they haven’t seen it in some (very obscure) spy shots.

My guess is that it goes away on the HC and Denali, but would be available in some packages in lower trim LTZ/SLT and lower.

How responsive is it?  Does it take time for the electronics to engage??  Or is there a pause?

It responded right away. You also have to make sure your foot is pressing on the brake firmly to make sure the tranny engages. I made mistake and didn’t put foot down hard enough once and it made clunking noise.   That’s the main thing. Make sure you have foot down fully on brake.

I don’t understand why not. They have the resources and small block heritage behind them to seriously Start a performance street truck division and put a huge hinder into Ford and Rams off roaders.  A blown LS7 could easily push 800+ hp and be very reliable.
A buddy of mine just bought 09 Z06 and absolutely loves the 7.0L.
I’d sign on the line the minute it hit showroom floors and I guarantee many others on here would join me.

The problem with a blown LS7 is that it can quickly become a blown LS7. Actually, they can blow straight out of the box haha. Too many demons hiding in those engines that GM has never admitted to. But with a good set of aftermarket heads, they're great motors.

I'd love to see a high-performance truck from GM, too. They have all the components to make it happen. I'd get in line for a truck like that. I think it's strange they seem to ignore the segment. It's not like the typical Raptor or TRX buyer is cross shopping anything in the GM lineup. Those sales are lost from the get-go.

Here is mine.. Zero time to drive it. Just sits The 7.0 is glorious. And the lightweight made it a phenomenal machine.
