My new 2014 Denali with 1000 miles on it does the exact same thing. This morning going to work, I look over at the passenger seat and my iPad almost fell off the seat until I grabbed it. What the hell is going on?

A representative I spoke with at the GM Business Resource Center, the department you are referred to after you call and complain to GM, admitted that they know they have a problem but that their engineers can't figure out how to fix it. At this point I think it's only a matter of time before the vibration causes the truck to fail resulting in a fatal accident. Hopefully I'm not behind the wheel when this happens.

You're telling us GM confirmed to you that the truck will eventually fail from the vibration and cause an accident?

Sorry if there was any confusion. Yes it is my option and I really hope this doesn't happen but I don't know what else it's going to take for GM to fix the vibration problem.

Can any of you guys here get your hands on a set of wheels (rims included) that are of the previous GMT900 trucks and that are balanced. Put them on and go for a ride.

Did that. Plus a set of 24s that rode great. Vibration still exists.

You put a set of the older wheels on and it still had the vibration!?

This is a thought and not necessarily a proper fix. Does anyone who has a shake at 70-80 mph have any weight in their bed? These trucks are lighter than before and the frames flex more so I am told. I'm going to try 200-300 lbs of sand bags and see how it goes.

Trucks in previous years have had this issue of shaking on the highway as a a result of frame beaming. If you put 400-600 pounds of weight between the tailgate and the wheel tubs and the shaking on the highway goes away then you have frame beaming. If this is the case, then it is just a matter of time before GM redesigns the rear cab mounts.

Someone in this forum did the sand test about 4-6 weeks ago and it did not reduce the vibration. Give it a shot, who knows. Good luck!

300 lbs sand did not stop shaking at highway speeds. Guess we will have to wait for the new body mounts.

When I first got my Silverado it was winter and when I got out of work it would shake and bounce for the first few miles so I had the tires changed to michelins and now it barely does it and only last about a 1/4 mile.

The other day when I took off after stopping at a red light the rear end of the truck felt like it was walking for a second then it quit. Very weird feeling.

I do have a vibration in my floorboard and accelerator pedal however, I'm thankful that I don't have the shakes that some of you guys have.

With the vibration problems the majority of us are having at speeds 45-55 and 70 and above it has to something common to all models even with different options. Something I mention to my service manager was the power steering control module which has software and referred to as Smooth Road Shake Compensation. Its made up with different sensors feeding back to a module to computer, with bad information from sensors to module to computer could cause it to over react and cause maybe the problem were having.( maybe too sensitive )My service manager knew what I was talking about, but he has nothing from GM. So if we have anyone from GM reading this forum or any of our members know of anyone with connections to GM maybe they could have this checked out.( They might have to rewrite new software for our trucks)

      I have a 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the 6.2 liter engine, Vin: 2GC4YME79R1273849, with 27,437 miles. Recently we took a trip from Candor, NY to Townsend, TN pulling our fifth wheel, when I got close to the Townsend, TN area The truck gave me a message of low oil. I checked the dip stick and found it was 2 quarts low. Today, August 27, 2026, I had the oil changed and the technician Found the truck was very low on oil.  Is there a Recall for this?       That is the funnel kit I bought and for being here in Canada I did get a better deal than what other sources were charging through a certain supplier in town that sources more directly and they ordered it for me. There are other items now on the market which would be perfect as well but this has worked well which was the hope when I bought it. I mentioned the Amsoil quart bottles as they have that squarish shape up top and it props nicely on the rim of the opening without falling into the funnel so I can leave them sit and drip a bit. You may have already figured out that to get the cap off the valve cover unless one is 7 + feet tall its not going to be reached without standing on a step of some sort and so when I do that I put the right adapter in and just leave the elbow on the funnel all the time anyway and open the lid and then if using quart containers for sure I can stand beside the truck and leisurely add the oil, and I can leave that funnel on when starting the engine to let it idle to fill the filter and then add the rest of the oil to top it up before removing the funnel and putting the factory cap back on. I put the cap back on the top and slide the bottom cap on as it fits onto the elbow adapter also and then store the funnel in a clean household plastic garbage bag along with the adapter so I have no reason to be washing out the inside of the funnel as I keep it completely clean between uses.    Draining the oil as per the under the truck portion, yes indeed that is slick as someone was thinking on GM's part there and admittedly I don't drop the oil screaming hot in this truck due to the exhaust being there and makes it safer as far as the oil temp if its just warmed up some instead as I don't have the truck on any ramps etc as I do it as the tires sit on the garage floor. The filter is not boiling hot then either and can drop it off into another pail after pulling the drain plug and just leave it drip out. Go back under a few hours later with new filter in hand and clean off the filter base and put the new filter on and install the drain plug. The filter is a little cramped in there as per wrapping ones hand around the filter and I am so used to using the band style filter removal tool that its no big deal and same for snugging it up. My filter wrench is many years old now but I think this is the current version and sounds like the right size, just in case my explanation was not great ( those nylon strap wrenches that one tool fits all filters are not my favorite tool to use, I much prefer this style personally )     57020 Swivel Gripper - No Slip Filter Wrench - Small | Lisle Corporation   And again about the oil draining and filter setup under these GM trucks, I've watched Ford videos of them struggling with oil flying sideways out of the oil pan on the gas 7.3 due to the sideways drain plug onto other components or cross members and guys trying to make shields out of carboard etc and other Ford pickups that Ford insisted they have sideways drain plugs. One win for GM there anyway with this engine.

      Kind of off topic, wife drives a 2023 Yukon Denali with the 3.0, been a great rig so far, incredible fuel economy for a truck that big and heavy. Coming up on 50000 trouble free miles.

      I`m gonna try some of this in my 2000 LM7 that has had the famous piston slap since 17,000 miles or so. I have used Mopar combustion chamber cleaner down the spark plug holes a few times in the past. Corrects the problem for a few months or so. Then returns. GM top engine cleaner has been used also. No good results from this.   This LM7 never used oil. Even running the piss out of it.   Course, I`m gonna use this in my 2025 L84 while it`s still clean. It`s got 13,000 miles. Used Chevron fuel system cleaner [2 bottles in tank] a tank or 2 ago.
