Now they want to investigate issues with the drivetrain :sigh: .

They should start investigating what kind of workforce and quality control is used to produce these parts first.

45k sticker 3 times to the dealer and no fix....

if i was to go for another truck does anyone know if the crewcab sierra 1500 sle trucks with 20" wheels are seeing high numbers of vibrating

Update on my truck. They road forced the tires and matched the high spots on the tires with the lows on the wheels or whatever you wanna call it. They were so close to giving a complete new set of new tires but they were all within spec. I need new tires here soon because I'm at 33k miles, kinda upset about that lol

But, I will say, took it for a 120 mile trip today on the highway and so far so good! Stock shocks suck ass time for an upgrade, if it doesn't vibrate again, I'm hopeful lol

They call it vector matching, It's the only thing they can change that can affect the road force numbers for the tires. If they can't get the numbers within spec after a vector match they replace the tire. Les Schwab did it on mine replaced 3 of 4 and got all the numbers below 10, even got one down to 0.

Ah gotcha. So is it just because the tires are actually bad or are these trucks just so sensitive to tires they have to be within a really tight spec to not vibrate the truck? That is, if that's the only issue is tires lol

Makes you wonder how "true" the rims are on these things. I am not sure where most of GM's are made, I haven't looked but the aluminum rims on my Jeep GC has mad in China stamped on the backside. Don't know if that means much either because the Jeep is a pretty smooth ride. I took the day off to do some work around the house and took my truck on the Interstate for the first time since I took my air dam off a couple of weeks ago. It was very smooth at 75 today but I am sure it was just a coincidence!

Update on my situation (2014 Rally 2 edition). Ive been going back and forth with GM and the BBB and GM asked for one more chance to fix it saying they would put their regional engineer on it. I dropped my truck off to the dealer this morning so the GM eng can take a further look at it. I get a call a few minutes ago and the GM eng thinks the vibrations are cause from the exhaust system lol. I didnt put up a fight when they told me that but in the back of my mind I know there is no way that will fix the issue. Regardless, the truck is getting a new exhaust. Ill report back once I pick it up and test drive it on the highway but per our agreement if GM didnt fix it this time we would go to arbitration.

Got my truck back from the dealer with the new exhaust.....vibrations are still there. Not surpised! I guess they figured since they have no real fix maybe the exhaust system was the cheapest part to replace so at least they can say they tried. Moving forward with my existing BBB case, hopefully arbitration is next.

It is easy to spot any problems with rims when balancing the wheels. "Mad in China"? LOL.

I remember years ago when I had problems with my Volkswagen lemon car, a VW service manager told me that they start replacing the parts that are the cheapest and then go from there, meaning they had no clue what was wrong.

i had 1000 lbs of feed in the back of mine Friday. Got a chance to run it up to 75, and it still vibrated. Maybe not as bad as before, but 80%+ of it.

For what thats worth.

Got my vibrator back from the purchasing dealer thurs., they again claim it has no vibration, this dealer is 120 miles from me and GM forces me to take to them instead of my hometown dealer. Still has a vibration, they have now had it 3 times and I also took it to my local to put new tires on, which I paid for. Had the owner of my local dealer drive it today, he agrees there is something wrong with it. I will start the lemon law proceedings next week.

Keep all your service work order copies.

Those that had picometer measurements, what were they and at what speed were they taken at. Mine were 9.92mgs @ 71mph. Limit is 10.0, but bmy dealership refuses to test at higher speeds. I'm almost 100% sure its because they know it won't pass.

So anyone with aftermarket wheels and tires experience that they need to have them vector matched in order to eliminate vibration? It sounds like these trucks are just super sensitive to "out of spec" tires (which I know isn't the case for most of yall) in which a regular mount and balance won't suffice

Mine tested at 30+ and according to my dealer when they got it down to 19 it was "within spec". That was at 75 mph.
