Someone needs to remove the tires from the wheels, put the wheel on a hub-centred mandrel, and measure the radial and lateral runout with a proper dial indicator, not the measurements that May or may not be done on the Hunter RF machine. I don't trust that stupid little arm that the Hunter machine uses. And when we see that every tire vibrates on these trucks, including totally different make/model of tire, I can't believe every tire manufactured is defective. It's too preposterous to believe. Gotta be the wheels. Or the hubs. Or the hub-centric fit is too loose.

Has anyone put aftermarket wheels on? Hub-centric or lug-centric? Result?

my 75mpg vibration didnt start until I added aftermarket wheels. my factor 20's with factory rubber no vibration. aftermarket 20's with factory rubber vibrates

Sounds like a case of bad wheel balance.

I finally had enough of my vibration and 2 different dealers not wanting to fix it or even attempted to fix it. Always got the whole "it drives like its intended too" so I traded it in on a new truck.. Sad day it was because I really like the truck a lot!

What did you get?

I really hate to say this, but as an update as of tonight, my truck is fixed. It just sat at the dealership for a week, and they finally called me and told me to come pick out any set of wheels/tires off any other truck on the lot and they would swap them for me. I hate saying this because I know it's not the fix for most guys here, but my truck rides completely smooth, like you're on glass up to about 95mph, even with cruise set. I stuck with 22" wheels, but ended up picking a set of the black ones that look like this:

They look good, and I guess they work a lot better than the chrome ones I had.

I also had these on my 2014 rally edition (we had the dueler ATs - maybe that's the difference) and GM bought that truck back. The truck was smooth until first tire rotation and that truck turned into a nightmare. I second rotating the tires just for the heck of it. I'm glad to hear you have no vibrations for now though - I wish I could say I've felt that :/

That's pretty shitty. My dealer offered me a month's payment for all the trouble I'd been through to date, and they felt it was fixed. Didn't accept anything yet though, since mine still vibrates after 4 attempts. What also sucks is that if you do get a new truck, the maintenance is cut in half and the warranty is now only 60k instead of 100k.

Yeah - we did not accept anything and told them we don't need help paying our truck otherwise we would have never bought it. We want it fixed or bought back. I'm not taking a third truck from them. This is it.

A few days ago when I got upto about 76mph the vib started and got worst at about 82 on a new smooth paved road about 70 miles from where I live. Was going today to have the tires balanced and decided to do some testing before I went. Got on a smooth got upto 70 and on upto 90 and no vibs. I tried it many times could not get it to vibrate. The outside temp today is 60 was 78 when it had the vib. Who knows I still wonder why the crew cabs don't have a swing bearing on the drive shaft I know ford and toyota have one.

Congrats ! I think your going to love it as I'm loving mine I also traded my 14 Viberado in for 15 Ram 4x4 Hemi .

Absolutely love this truck and I keep loving it more everyday unlike with my GM it got to the point I Hated driving it and was frustrated every time I drove it . It's a shame because it was a beautiful truck but that vibration killed it .

This Ram is like riding on glass and this Hemi is impressive on power and mpg . I'm actually getting just under 20mpg in town but I did put a Magnalow exhaust on it .

Anyway congrats again and don't worry your going to love it !

It's like coming out of a abusive relationship and your guard is high so just relax and enjoy it .

I remember when I first got my Ram I was on vibration alert after being tormented for a year in my Silverado .

This Ram is like a breath of fresh air and look forward to driving it everyday !

How did you make out on the trade in ????

LoL well it's like I told my X you can't put a price on happiness

Trading in my X and my Viberado was probably 2 of the best decisions I ever made .

I actually got a great deal on my Ram didn't even feel the hit on the trade .

I feel for you guys that are still in the process of trying to get rid of there GM truck because most other dealers/manufactures know about the vibrating issue that 2014 and up GM trucks have and there going to make you pay dearly the longer you wait because are going to be aware. It's pretty sad GM won't recognize the issue but other manufactures /dealers are sure aware of it . Very very sad for all the loyal GM truck owners !!!!

It looks like GM is not working hard to find the problem, all we have to do is sit and wait for a solution. I think im goin to trade my silverado with a f150.

The service manager keeps telling me 'they are waiting on a good rear end'. I am not sure exactly what that means.

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
