What mine? 28,000 miles 1yr ownership now........I have spent 200.00 for a Transmission flush for my own well being....and recently spent 60.00 for 2qty sets of wiper blades? Truck drives and rides as perfect today as it did off the lot? 20mpg's mixed driving it's fit and finish is superb I am amazed at how good it drives after 28,000 miles in one year.......I might be the only one who got a good vehicle from GM HUH?

This truck must be the lottery winner I suppose!

Well i guess i have to eat crow , the hunk of GM junk came back to life today ! Drove up to Canton Ohio on I 77 and my Silverado came to life , sounded like a old steam engine and shaking up front ! The noise started on the 50 MPH range and i took her up to 70 and you need ear plugs if you wanted to listen to the radio , i night as well had the windows down the noise was that bad ! Dear sweet Mary is just like Obama , two liars in a pod ! I will do a oil change in about 500 miles and there is a lot of things under the truck I want to check out ! I see no way this truck can take this punishment much longer and I have told GM that it is unsafe to drive but when one is a liar nothing bothers them !!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with all due respect I am writing this reply. My intent of writing the reply is for GM to get off their butt and fix their issue. After having been a 35 year owner of Chevy Trucks I recently tried a different brand - 6 months ago. Late last night I was driving home after a long week traveling, and I realized I was doing 80 miles an hour - with no shimmy shake or vibration. It was a comfortible ride. Two weeks ago my wife was riding in the truck and she mentioned it rode better than her 2017 CRV. To that point - my die hard Chevy brother-inlaw now owns a Ford F-150. You ask - why am I writing this reply - you bought something else. True - but I love Chevy Trucks. I just could not afford the time to constantly go in and try to get my truck to work properly. GM admits there is a issue - please do not insult me by telling me they do not have a fix. And it is still happening in 2017. My truck was a 2014......... GM - PAY ATTENTION - you have two diehard owners that have just given up and gone to different vehicles. We buy a vehicle to get and drive - for what we need to do - not to drive to the dealer to get it fixed........... If it happened to us, you can bet it is happening to less loyal customers. I happy with my new truck, no trips to the dealer. The only issue is that it is not a Chevy. My final point to GM, this week I was in Texas and I was shocked at the number of Nissan , Toy-auto trucks that were on the road. It was a dramatic increase from just a couple of years ago. I can only wonder who's market share they took!!!!! WAKE UP GM - YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE GOING ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Well GM now wants me to take my truck back to the dealer so they can compare it to a 2017 truck off the lot. I asked the GM Rep , what if the truck on the dealer's lot vibrates, does that make mine normal?? This should be interesting.

well drove my 2014 gmc crew cab 1500 today.it has 39xxx miles.

when i bought the truck noticed the vibration at 30xxx miles , was told it was tires. should've had them put tires on it before buying.

had new tires installed and same vibration from 45-75 on acceleration , cruse, or deceleration.

also bought a set of gm take off wheels. still vibration same speed ,rpm.

new road with windows up sounds like driving down a gravel road.

well long story short drove about 200 miles and on the way home came to a stop light and felt like an engine miss remind u i am not moving, this only happened for a couple seconds and gone.

drove to the next light and did it again, just for a couple seconds. know i have worked for a gm dealership for 15 years. this is the same vibration i would bet my axx. I dont know if converter vibration or something else in engine rotating assembly.I have been waiting patiently for a fix from gm. I think they are looking in the wrong spot. this just happened for the first time today that i noticed but allways had the vibration in v4 or v8.

really disappointed in this truck

.

rad leak at 37xxx miles. was not under warranty cause assembled in mexico.

vibration.

poor radio reception.

money wasted, not worth the head ache. the more i drive the more aggravated i become.

Got in my truck this morning to go golfing , turned onto St Rt 212 took it up to about 45 and sounded worse than a freight train ! Was like driving down a gravel road I changed speeds several times and the noise was still there, it has never did this before ! After golf drove up to Canton and truck was running quite and perty smooth . On return trip took up to 72 and VERY , VERY light vibration up front [ most people would not notice ] and ride was smooth !

This hunk of junk needs to be recycled into a boat anchor , seems every day it now does something else and i'm beging to think onstar has something to do with all these problems !!! I had a 2010 and one morning heading east on I 70 I for some reason had a can of pepsi sitting in the consol , well after about 40 mile I decided to pop the top and that dam thing exploded all over my truck so i'm thinking this problem has been around longer than most people think . I stopped at local dealer and they had to changed several settings , I ask how they got changed and got no reply !!!!! OnStar OnStar screwing with my truck !!!!!!!! and not the first time either , dirty bastards

During assembly there are push locks that resemble a star washer installed on the studs to keep the rotors seated.

It doesn't seem like common knowledge that they need to be removed when the wheel is installed.

Pardon my laziness, but don't have the time to scroll through 700+ pages. If anybody could recap if a solution was posted for my yr/make/model that'd be huge and a big thanks.

2014 double cab Z71
34xxx miles
33" all terrains

20x9 fuel mavericks

Noticed a vibration/shake a few thousand miles ago and it continues to get worse. Shakes my middle console pretty bad from roughly 65-80mph. From what I've scrolled through and found, possibly my drive shaft needs to be rebalanced?. Taking into dealership next week.

Thanks in advance.

No solution found but GM will most likely blame your wheels and tires, not being a party pooper but they are in denial and will find reason to blame non-original parts. Good luck

If they do not blame the wheels/tires they will just tell you all the trucks do this and it is normal.

And good luck complaining to GM. I have yet to receive any sort of communication from them regarding my open case.

    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
    • So, lot's of googling and reading, and a trial fit found, that indeed they hit the newer fatter caliper. I did some re-testing today, and found just 3/16" worth of washers was enough for the wheel to spin freely. I added 2 more on each, and again it spun freely. Tested lock to lock with the 4 washers, about 5/16" not quite the 3/8" Im considering, but pretty close. No issues. I've been looking at the BORA .375" spacers and using extended lugnuts to get back lost thread due to the spacer. All the ET lugs I've seen are all .33" reach inside the wheel lug holes. For those that don't like spacers or think they're unsafe, I think it depends on what type of spacers you're using and making sure you get good quality hubcentric ones, and if you're using bolt on ones, regular mainenance, checking the spacer lugs. Not wanting or needing that much spread. Looking for the minimum that will let me run these rims and tires.  it does look to stick out a little, but I really want put these on. and use the stock all-terrains in the winter.
