My Chevy dealer has had a red dbl cab on their lift with the rear end tore out of it for almost 2 weeks now... Poor guy

At least they are doing something about it. Unfortunately, it seems to me that sometimes they will just throw parts at the truck just to appease a customer by showing that they really found something wrong.

I posted in this thread last summer about vibrations felt in my 2014 CC SB LTZ 4x4 with 3:08 rear. At the time I realized what was going on with my truck it had around 14k-15k miles. My truck is running the stock SEY 22's with the factory Bridgestone tires. I went through Road Force Balancing and all and didn't really feel a difference. With work and all I didn't have time to keep running back and forth to the dealer or look into lemon law proceedings. To make a long story short i have had my truck exactly one year and have 28k miles on it and those same vibrations that were present at 70mph and greater have all but disappeared. I have only rotated my tires at each oil change and the problem has resolved itself. I think the tires were partially to blame as they now have roughly 60% life remaining. It could also be that parts are more broken in and those tolerance flaws have evened out. My truck rides 100% better and I hope its last me for years to come or until the next recall. :driving:

That is interesting to hear. I believe you are the second or third person to have posted in the last week or two that their vibration/shake issue has "disappeared" simply by continuing to drive it. While those who continue to have the issues, that is may not be the greatest of news, but is semi-promising in some regard.

I'm not even going to attempt to find it, but somewhere in this thread somebody posted that GM said to drive these trucks for 10-15k miles and let things smooth out. Some of us, myself included, thought this was GM simply trying to kick the can down the road. Perhaps there's an element of truth to this approach after all.

Funny thing happened on my way back from buying another vehicle to replace my lemon. I asked a friend to ride with me. I made a good deal and bought an SUV on the spot.

My friend drove my 2014 Silverado lemon back home and I drove the new to me SUV. Ive never followed my Silverado before. As I was following the Silverado, I noticed it was dog tracking. When looking at the truck from behind while driving, the front wheels are not aligned with the rear wheels. They are off to the left of the back wheels by a few inches. This is sometimes caused by a bent frame after an accident, or by a misaligned rear axle, or other causes. No damage to the frame that I can tell.

Not something I expected to see on a brand new truck with 3K miles that Ive never even taken off road, much less wrecked. I bought it new with ~200 miles on it. I was told it was a dealer transfer. Now, I wonder.....

Oh well, it will soon be GMs problem since they are buying it back.

I had 15,000 miles on my 2014 when GM bought it back.... the vibration was the same at 15,000 miles as it was at 4,000 miles.

Gotcha so I guess it just depends on what the source of the vibration truly is.

Yeah, mine had 12,000 miles and some change when I traded it in. It seemed to get worse from when it first started vibrating at 1000 miles to when I traded it. I do remember a mechanic telling me it'll be a different truck after 10,000 miles and an alignment but that didn't hold true for me. Glad it's gone!!

I think all trucks need to be aligned after the suspension settles, things wear in, etc. Ford is giving me an alignment and wheel balance at 15000 miles once I'm there.

Been a while but an update regarding my case.

So I filed a BBB claim, and about 2-3 days later got a call from the GM Business Resolution team. They investigated all the service attempts, and began working on my case. It went over XMas break, and I wasn't getting my calls returned, so I contacted the gentleman I had been dealing with from the GM Corporate business headquarters. Turns out my case was handed over to a different agent, and he provided me with their number.

It took another week, but just today I was asked to bring in my truck for an appraisal. I have 3600 miles on the truck, still brand new (crew, 4x4, all-star, 5.3), and it appraised for $26,000, laughable, but I understand that the dealership probably did that on purpose so that GM has to foot the bill and either buy the vehicle back, or pay the difference. It is after all, GM's fault...not the dealership.

I've already returned a call to the business resolution agent, now awaiting GM's response. I was told before the appraisal that the appraisal was just a "first step" towards getting me out of the vehicle and into a new one.

More updates to come...

I got my situation fixed by giving my Mexican

2014 1500 back on a trade assist and getting into an American made 2015 2500 duramax. Pressure them into a buy back they don't seem to care about fixing the 2014s. Just a big waste of time. No problems with the 2500 so far with 1800mi on the clock

Regarding your trade assist, it looks like I am going down the same road. Did you get trade equal to what you paid for the vehicle brand new? Or slightly less? My truck has 3600 miles on it and they just did an appraisal. Waiting to hear back from the business resolution agent on my case...

Yes I made them give me back the price I paid for the truck.. and then I took the new truck with whatever rebates it had at the time which ended up being more because the 2015.5 were coming out. I should have made them pay all the tag transfer fees and all that but I didint think about it at the time. The other thing I realized now also is that my credit score went down because of obtaining so many loans within a short period so my interest rate was actually a half a percent higher on the new truck.

Just started this i am told they do my invoice to new truck invoice, then told me .30 cents per mile ihave 15000 on it so that's over 4000 $ don't think i should be paying anything out of pocket its there problem. So if you guy that have been though this cam pm me or just post if you all paid for miles and any other hidden things that I might in counter during this process would be appreciated.

^^^^ If they are using Lemon Law guidelines for your state, look them up and see what they are.

Im paying ~150.00 total for my "usage" on my buyback. Thats one hundred and fifty dollars. AL lemon law, thats the formula that GM is using for my buyback as stated in the buyback offer letter, allows the following for usage.

"A reasonable allowance for use is that amount directly attributable to use by the consumer before his first report of the nonconformity to the manufacturer, agent, or authorized dealer, and must be calculated by multiplying the full purchase price of the motor vehicle by a fraction having as its denominator 100,000 and having as its numerator the number of miles that the vehicle travelled before the first report of nonconformity."

I first reported my "nonconformity" or "vibration" at ~400 miles and bought it new at ~200 miles. Theyre also giving me credit for every payment I made. Im only paying the usage fee and nothing else. Im getting credit in the buyback for taxes, registration, all payments and dealer fees. Basically making me whole as if it never happened.

Im NOT getting paid back for over 1500.00 in PTO taken from work and time and gas back and forth to the dealer to deal with my 2014 POS. Dealer is 60 mi round trip from me and Ive made umpteen trips. Im willing to let that go in light of the fact that Im only paying ~150.00 usage to drive this truck for 6 months.

When we finalized the figures, I said DEAL.
