I am on my third 2014. The first was an early build in 2013. LEMON. I took the hit and just traded it in after only 6 months. Bought a new 4X4 cc , same shit. I have never bought anything but a Chevy so I fought and got a so called "buy back". Bought a 6-14 built Z71 . Shakes , Vibes, seat clunking, ect, ect, ect...! GM tried to shut me up with a 500.00 dollar gift card for some assist steps. Heres what I think. Its a piss poor design and there is no intention on fixing it till all of them are sold. Its probably a combo of mostly rear end assemblies, tires, trans, and something to do with the electric pwr steering imput. I have bought 7 new Silverados in seven years All , All were great except the 2014s. I will be taking my newest ( 2000 miles) in next week

for the vibes problem. If GM can not make this right. I will sue like a S.O.B. I believe I have given GM every chance. I have tried to "get used to it" thinking maybe its me. But NO. These ****ers shake like a Sybian machine. And for those of you that want to chime in about your perfectly smooth truck, good for you , save it, but you are not paying for my truck. A lot of us have gotten screwed. Between the shakes, having to retighten the hose clamps on a new truck every three days and I haven't even mentioned the water leak that just started, I have had ENOUGH.

I literally have been in a rental probably as much as these Silvys. Its very embarrassing when your neighbors are always asking me when Im in a rental, " DID YOU TRADE YOUR NEW TRUCK IN?' GM KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM. WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM? JUST GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK OR GIVE ME WHAT I PAID FOR.

OH YEAH, YOU MAY WANT TO KEEP AN EYE OUT ON FOX NEWS ABOUT MY STORY. LIKE I SAID ...E N O U G H !

Personally, I'm shocked that the media hasnt covered this quite a while ago. Many of us have een burnt...far too many, I did. There's soe that say we're such a small minority. I call bull on that. Early on at my dealer I was working with....out of a see of silverados we couldnlt find ONE...not a single one that didnt vibrate as bad or much worse than my lemon. Honestly, I think the guys who are like "my 14 is great"...I say wait your turn...it'll get you and soon. I wont list all that was wrong with my lemon 14 (alreayd listed it here) but it had a rediculous amount of thngs broken and more started weekly. I was at the point that even if they fixed the vibs I had, there was far too many other things wrong with it that it wasn't stayng in my drive way (things that others have mentioned here and all the other forums). I've bought a lot of trucks, and have never seen a forum of any model year or brand so filled with systemic problems. How did al this not get worked out furing GM's "million miles of testing". Getting back to media coverage.....how do they not pounce on this issue? GM takes tax payer money as a "means to stimulate the US economy"...and then invests in manufacturing in Mexico and Canada??? How was that even allowed?? Then they design sub-par trucks where corners were cut in every way possible and then sold to US consumers and we're made to suffer with GM's lemons. I mean....how is this not getting full coverage on the big news channels? Meanwhile, my new Ford I traded the lemon 14 GM for...6600 miles so far, no recalls, no returns to shop except for my free oil change and tire rotate....it's just a better product all around. And for those who say we're such a small number...no dealerships around here are taking trades on 14 GMs....they have a bunch out front at each and cant sell them. I lucked out and thank God I traded mine when I did or I'd be stuck taking an enormous loss to get out of it. GMs insulting offer minus money because they made me rack up 11000 miles while they screwed around and couldn't fix anything on my lemon made it clear they could have cared less about me, a former life long GM customer who will now never buy or recommend another GM product for the rest of my life. I hope you do have Fox news interested in doing a story...this needs to get out there past all the message boards on the Internet. If you have a link to share regarding what you have in the media please post it here.

I am in the process of a buy back with gm now and maybe some of you that have already completed this can give some information. Just started this i am told they do my invoice to new truck invoice, then told me .30 cents per mile ihave 15000 on it so that's over 4000 $ don't think i should be paying anything out of pocket its there problem. So if you guy that have been though this cam pm me or just post if you all paid for miles and any other hidden things that I might in counter during this process would be appreciated.

Don't accept this.. Tell them you want every penny for the truck back you spent.. They are giving you what the law says for a lemon law.. But they know if they go to arbitration they will lose so tell them you want all you money back for the lemon and you want the new incentives on the new truck.. I personally wouldn't get another 1500 I felt it was Neccessary to spend the money on the 2500 diesel proven drive train.. Whether the body of the truck falls apart around it later on or not I know that duramax and Allison isn't taking a shit on me.

I only got this one after a buyback in November. I keep telling my self that since all three have had the same issues that , well maybe it s just me. But ya know, I have loved EVERY single GM truck every since I went with my dad to pick up his new 1972 Cheyenne when I was a kid. I swear I can still smell the new on that truck. I bleed Chevy blood. I hate to rant but Im really at a loss what to do. I haven't taken this one to the dealer yet. I really do not think it would help. I would even just trade for another one if I knew it would make me happy. I do not want to drive any other manufactures product. I have really lost a LOT of money looking for a good one. Sorry 'bout the rant but sometimes you need to let a little steam off. Kinda in a LOVE, HATE, LOVE

relationship with these things. LOL Anyway its nice outside today so Im going to go shine 'er up and drive around. At least she still looks great. Thanks for listening. :chevrolet:

just wondering if anyone has heard if the Colorado/Canyon trucks have these vibration issues?

most buy a big truck because they want a big truck but the Colorado is just as big as a 90's version full sized truck in size and power so it would be interesting to know if the Colorado or the canyon has these vibration issues as well.

I do not know about vibration issues, but if they are using the same suppliers for the major assemblies and tires, and using the same quality control process as on the full size trucks, then all bets are off.

Did you ever buy new tires for any of these trucks?

Did you ever buy new tires for any of these trucks?

Why should he have to buy new tires for any of 3 new trucks?

Posted (edited)

All I have to say is that if he bought three 2014 trucks and they all have vibration problems, then this defect must be a lot more frequent than 1 in 10 trucks. If only 1 out of 10 trucks was defective and the defect was randomly distributed, then the probability of buying three trucks in a row with the same defect would be 1/10 X 1/10 x1/10 = 1/1000. Yes, one in a thousand. if you were to choose a truck from a lot of one thousand trucks where only one truck was defective, the chances of picking the bad truck would also be 1 in a thousand.

Either the guy had really bad luck picking these trucks, or, more credibly, the defect is quite common, especially in certain lots that probably received certain defective assemblies and/or tires.

(I am using 1 defective truck in 10 based on the statement of the local dealer tech that about 10% of the trucks sold there are coming back to service with vibration problems).

why not just use GM own press release that 80% of new truck owners are completely satisfied? that means 2 out of 10 or 1 out of every 5 are not satisfied.

as soon as you mention this fact to the "deniers" on this forum, they stop posting because they cant deny thart GM itself admits only 4 out of every 5 trucks works properly.

these numbers get even more slanted as people who do go buy a new GM truck are watching out for the vibrators when they go buy a truck so the ones remaining on the dealer lots are the ones rejected and passed over and these dealers are shuffling them around hoping someone isn't paying attention so they can defraud them into buying a defective truck.

at this point in time if there are any 2014 trucks still left on the lot, I bet its more like 4 out of 5 if not all 5 are vibrators

1 set of new tires is a lot cheaper than the financial hit on 3 new trucks in a 1 year period. I'm not saying he should HAVE to buy new tires on a new truck. He just also shouldn't HAVE to buy 3 new trucks in 12 months. Why not at least attempt to do some trouble shooting? I posed the question because I'm just curious if he bought new tires at any point and I'm wondering if it had any effect.
