Does anyone have a copy of the PI 1138 bulletin or point me to where I can print it. I would like to take it into the dealership when I take my truck in for the third time to fix the seat movement problem? Which by the way they say is "normal".

Thanks

I have taken my truck back twice and I am still having the same problem. The dealer told me they have done all they can do until they hear from GM to fix the problem.

I just complained about this on my new 2014 LTZ. Dealer ordered a part and it will be in tomorrow. The part number is 13587540 and is described as a frame. Has anyone had this part replaced, and if so did it work? They found the resolution very quick, so it must be a part recommended in some TSB.

I have had this replaced but after a few weeks the problem came back. I took it back in and they still can't fix the issue.

Until they get a good fix I think I will live with mine moving and popping. The thing that drives me crazy is the inconvenience of taking it in and waiting three hours for it not to be fixed.

What part is it that they are supposedly replacing and it does not seem to fix the problem?

They told me the bottom seat cushion brackets and harness had to be replaced. But after driving it around for a few weeks it started to do it again. I took it back and they told me that if they hear back from GM they have done all that they could do. Here is an idea for them. How about replacing the seat all together with one that is one piece and not two.

Replacing the harness? How could this possibly contribute to seat movement?

That's what I said. But I guess the seat comes in 3 parts. The frame, the back and the bottom section of the seat. I was told that the seat and frame didn't fit correctly and it needed brackets. I would like to see the step by step process on how it all works together. But after taking it back the 2nd time I am still having the same issue.

It is a mystery to me why GM would cut corners on seats in their highest profit vehicles. Heck, even the small Chevy Sonic I bought recently for 1/4 of the price you pay for these trucks, has decent seats without any inadvertent movement.

I'm having the same problem you describes, a slight movement of the driver's power seat in every corner.

How can GM fix this? I own a 1500 Silverado with 7,000 Kms.

My seat still moves, it is not as pronounced and does not make as loud a noise as before but it is still doing it. I think I'm going to wait until it is really bad and noticeable then take it back in.

I have sent email to [email protected] but haven't heard back. There was a recall on the passenger seat not securing properly and that was fixed. I sure hope they fix this issue before something happens to us that causes an accident. :help:

Has anyone found a fix to this.

Has anyone found a fix to this.

Seems to me that a redesigned seat with a more robust frame is the fix.

You gotta love the same old tiring response from Jennifer the GM rep.. "Sorry for hearing bla, bla, bla give us your mileage and vin number so I can dial a phone and make an appointment for you" like we are idiots and can't make our own appointment. What a joke, I've never seen her once answer a question or help a single person on this forum.. Why even bother?? Seriously...

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
