Don't get your panties in a wad....

Very adult comment. Thanks for solidifying what I was thinking to begin with.

Finally got my truck in to dealer for seat issue. They told me that the seat adjuster needs replaced. Said that the seat adjuster pivots are loose and will have to replace the entire adjuster. He told me that part is on back order because this issue has happened a lot and they are redesigning it. Said they would call when part was in.

Jennifer you have been working with me in Private messages. You setup the appointment for me. Not sure what else can be done at this time. they ordered a "Seat Adjuster" they just have no idea when it will be available. The dealer did everything they could I believe at this time? What did you have in mind for a different approach at this issue?

Haven't heard from you. Just wondering if you

Hey b1gted, Have you heard anything back from the dealer on part availability? This is the exact feeling I have. The rear of the seat bottom seams to click/pop from side to side and the seat also clicks when I first get in like it is loose. I have been meaning to get under the seat and take a look before I go in for my 2nd follow up appointment on this issue.

I am weary to believe they actually have a redesign already, but maybe it has been an more prominent issue that has been brought up to the dealer at a higher level than I thought. Let me know what you hear and if it leads to any success with the adjuster swap out. The truck didn't do this at first, so it seems like something wore out and just hoping it wont happen again (IE. need a redesign or fix of sorts). Thanks.

I am weary to believe they actually have a redesign also. Just letting everyone know what they told me at the dealer. The GM Customer care person is supposed to be following up on this and getting back to me. But, no, I haven't heard from her, or from the dealer about anything. They acted like they had no idea when the part would be available, just that the ordered it and would let me know when it is in.

You have same exact issue, Mine didn't do this when I first got truck in July of this year. It is consistantly getting worse month to month. At first it just did it every once in a while, now it does it when I first get in the truck and on every turn or bump that forced my body to lean side to side at all.

Hey there,

I do apologize for the delay in responding. I have checked your case notes. Your agent is continuing to work with your dealership and I am reaching out to some of my internal resources to see if I can answer all your question regarding resolving your moving seat issue.

Thank you for your patience,

Jennifer, Is there a way for you to get in touch with someone who can tell us what the lead time for these seat assemblies is? I have a meeting with my dealer tomorrow morning and I am guessing that is the situation I will be in...waiting for a seat to be found. As a customer who currently owns the vehicle, I believe I should get preference over vehicles going down the line, but unfortunately GM already has my money and the ones on the line only earn them more, so I am likely lowest on their list.

In my personal opinion this is a big miss with GM due to the fact that this part is 100% related to the customer's experience, not to mention something that is fundamental to every car on the road today, so what makes this one so difficult to do correctly?

I am sick of feeling like I am sitting on a snow tube on a cold winter day as I go around corners in this truck. At first it was once or twice, now all the time, so there is a definite wear out mode here. The rear of the bottom portion of the seat just seems to clunk from side to side. I took a look under the seat to see if there was any noticeable slop in the bracket without digging too far, but I cant seem to find it. I can feel it and hear it under the seat, but cant seem to pinpoint the direct area.

I love the truck, but this experience is making me wish I would have never got rid of my 2011 Ford F150 ecoboost (which was a new model year also for all of you people that tend to use that as an excuse).

b1gted, I went to have them look at the seat today and they are going to replace the entire seat bracket (similar to your situation). However, they said I could have a bracket installed by Tuesday/Wed of next week. I am not sure whether I should believe it or not that they will get the bracket in that time due to your prolonged waiting...

The service advisor was very limited in his words and none of them gave me screaming confidence that it will be here next week.

    • I agree, simplicity and reliability matter more as vehicles get more complicated. A V8 work truck option with fewer electronic features and a stronger warranty would definitely appeal to a lot of buyers who use their trucks for real work. Customizing it with trusted outfitters is often the best way to get exactly what you need
    • I’ve heard similar complaints from newer vehicles where the factory “premium” systems don’t always live up to expectations. A good installer should be able to improve the sound without turning it into a bass-heavy setup. I’d look into upgrading the front speakers, adding a quality DSP amplifier, and possibly improving sound deadening first—those changes usually make a much bigger difference than just adding a subwoofer. Hopefully someone local can recommend a reputable installer in the Las Vegas/St. George area.
    • Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.
    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
