whoa shots fired lol

None intended. Wasn't meant to come off that way.

Just that he mentioned no fix and GM working on it. I'm assuming it's what TJay is involved in.

I was due for an oil change last week so I took mine in to get that and the loud door chime thing fixed and had planned on bringing up the radio but didn't. The service manager had a hard enough time trying to understand what I was telling her about the door chime and I had to walk them through it with information from the door chime thread so I just skipped the bad radio part. The fix to my door chime also reset all of the settings for the radio and erased all stored stations. I've got a year and a half left on my warranty but I do not have high hopes that this bad FM reception will ever get fixed.

Yup, any time they updated my radio software, it got reset. But your radio will never get fixed if you don't start the process by mentioning it. Updates are not applied unless they are addressing a specific problem...

Talked on the GMC complaint chat line and voiced(typed) my complaints about the FM radio reception. The took my contact info. See what happens.

So I have been reading this thread and watching the internet for a fix for my poor radio reception of my 2014 1500 Silverado.

I did come across this today. Wondering if this is what I am waiting for.

Has anybody did this fix yet that has poor radio reception? Did it solve it?

Not sure, but it sounds like PI1288a that was done to my truck. There have been varied results. Mine is much better after both hardware and software replacement. Others' results have not been as good.

Yes, I've had it done... well attempted to. my software was up to date so it didn't matter, the dealer can't reprogram it.

Thx Jesse, Well I checked my software as it says on that site and it is older (000477). So I am going to get the update. Not sure if I get the hardware as I do not have the tool to check it out.

I am hoping it fixes it for me. Frustrating that I have trouble picking up local radio stations less than 30 miles away but my 2010 Camaro(does not have an external antenna) got it.

Normally, if your truck was built in 2013, it will need the hardware changed also. I said normally, because there have been exceptions to this.

haha I know the feeling, I've been in Boston/Cambridge which is where the stations are broadcast from, and they still sound like shit. yet a 15 year old A/V receiver with a speaker wire antenna in my half underground basement can get them no problem and thats about 25 miles away.

i believe that is correct, mine is a 15 build in 14 though, so unfortunately it doesnt help me
