Man! These tires suck!

I know it's already been covered a lot, but holy cow! These Goodyear SR-As suck. I have 20,000 miles on my Sierra SLT A/T. The tires have been rotated about every 7,000 miles. They look OK with plenty of tread left. They're useless, though. They break looks on wet pavement with very little reason. I notice that when I start out from a traffic light, they start to spin when they get to the white paint for the crosswalk. I'm not accelerating hard, either. I turned a corner in the rain last night and the back end slid around on me. It's not like I'm driving like a teenager, either. I can drive the same way in my wife's minivan with no problem. I've never gotten less than 40,000 miles from a set of tires, but I think a set of Michelin M/S 2s might be on my Christmas list this year.

The SRA's are small for their rated size as well. I don't like them at all. They shouldn't be marketed as an "A/T" tire.

You know, I didn't mind them last year when they still had about 80% tread. Now, like the OP, they indeed suck. I'd say they are 50% now with just about 32,000 on them. A couple weeks ago in the rain, going around a bend I take every day, I had to "catch" the truck. Man did it make me pucker, and I still have to go through a winter with these POS. They have very little if any wet traction.

I had them in the wife's Tahoe and quickly replaced them. Not only are they hideous looking, they perform terribly. The fact that these can be branded AT tires is sad, what a bunch of liars.

I just put Duratrac's on for the same reason. 1/4 of the tread less but they might as well have been bald the traction fell of so much.

They do suck. Im getting good tread wear but they have horrible wet traction.

junk my friend replaced his on a 14 all terrain with kumho tires big difference.

i have them now. i hate goodyear tires... i like Michelin personally and continentals

Yea, They are pitiful. And its really strange, my dads Ram came with SRA's as well and his are noticeably better than the SRA's I had on my truck. They even have a slightly different tread pattern, but still labeled Wrangler SRA.

Either way I am happy with my Cooper Discoverers

I want to know how you guys got 30K with good tread life left? Mine were shot 2/32 at 28K and they were rotated every oil change. I agree with the others, tire did good first 15K on snow and wet roads but went to hell quickly after.

I find it funny that if you go to any Goodyear dealership for replacement tires, even they laugh at them. I was told by one the he wouldn't put them on his kids wagon.

They are mass produced to go on as OEM tires and GM wants them for cheap so they are built cheap.

All of the other brands do the same thing. the SR-A are on allot of RAMS as well.

That's why even the other Goodyear tires cost so much more. They are better tires.

The Colorado's use to come with General Grabbers and at the time they where horible tires.

I say at the time as General has been doing a better job with them and they are much better now.

The one Colorado was a 4x4 with a 4:10 and the back end would spin out from under me under moderate acceleration eveytime the locker would release.

Once I put new tires on it it never did it again.

I've only got 9k miles on mine but when it comes to wet weather driving they are the worst tires I have ever had in my life, and I have bought some cheap tires in my younger days. I'm the type that likes to use something till it is wore out but I will probably be looking to replace these sooner than later. I only put about 5k miles a year on my truck so I don't know if I can hold out till they wear out. I had copper AT3's on my 2002 silvy and really like them so I will probably go with them again.

I have been driving rear wheel drive trucks and cars with V8's my whole life and I know how far I can push them on wet roads but I have done a 180 twice in the year I have owned this truck on wet roads. Luckily one was going up a hill to a wally world parking lot and the other was on a small county road (going up hill again). I blame alot of it on the crappy tranny tuning as well because both times I had to give the truck more gas and the truck finally decided it would shift gears.

I have to agree that these tires suck. Last year in the winter they were okay but not great. This year with 24000 mile on then in the first snow storm of the year and only driving 25 miles an hour my rear just jumped out from under me and I ended hitting a curb and messed up my rim. I have had 4x4 trucks for years now and have never had the rear end just jump out from under me like that. I even had it in 4 wheel drive. I will see how they go in the next storm and if they are just a crappy, because there was a lot of wet heavy snow on the ground, I will be replacing them.

Yep, they were on my Silverado and they are on my Ram as well. Not so good in the rain. Didn't find them too bad in the first snow we had, which I found odd. Fords are putting SRA on the 18" wheels on some models. Cheapest option out there I guess for the OEMs.

AT's? pffftttt.... I don't think so.
