Yes PM. For some reason replies to my thread are not notifying me. Using the @forumname does send me a notification so thanks to @2017_whiteZ71 for that!

I'm assuming this was my truck [emoji4]

Could very well be... we’ll need to explore this if this is the case :). Text me for more troubleshooting.

Can you send me another PM to bring it to the top? I get 20-25 PMs daily, so it could have drowned.

My apologies. I usually respond within a day or two.

Has anyone purchased a 2014 full center console, black, white stiches, silver trim?  If so, do you have the part number listing and a source?  I want to upgrade my 2014 but I do not want the wireless charger version.

Thanks,

Rick

So... been reading all the posts and I think your harness can help me if I buy a 2018 Module. I have a 2017 sierra and previously tried to remove the little sticky piece from the original module. It would charge my Iphone 8 but it was sporadic so I gave up. Now I hear if you remove the little magnet as well it will work. Any insight into this? I guess my other option is to buy a new module and the wiring harness you created. If so, it is still available?

Hey Phil,

I rec’d the center console harness today. Got it all hooked up and was going thru and checking things to make sure it all worked.

I did a 2018 console, blk to brn cable and the blk to grey cable, grn to blk stayed in the glove box.

I did notice that the usb inside the console does not allow for car-play, but the front usb hub does, as well as the glove box usb.

Is there anything that can be done to fix the usb hub inside the console to have car-play? I have owned a 2016 1500 LT and a 2016 2500 LTZ (both with center consoles) and on both the usb inside the console allowed for car-play.

Thanks again for all you do here on the site! Much appreciated.

I'm wanting to swap full console for jump seat. Is there a harness for that?
Johnny01: Would you be interested in trading. I have a black with white stitching leather jump seat in my 2016 chevy Silverado. The truck only has 6000 miles on it. If they will interchangeable and yours is the right color. You can email me at [email protected]

Phil messaged me back and said that some have reported this while others have not.

So, this is what I did:

I ran the blk/brown cable from blk HMI to brown usb inside the console. This feeds the usb hub inside the arm rest area. Checked and car play now works at the usb connection inside the arm rest area.

My next thought was to run the  green HMI to the input on the double usb connector of the front upper console part, and run the output to the usb in the glove box.  This meant I would need the grn/gray cable, but I had purchased the blk/gray cable. And also would need a black to regular USB connector. Not sure if they even make this or not.

But I had some wire cutters!

i cut he blk/gray cable in half, and did the same to the grn to USB from the glove box. Swapped ends so that I ended up with the glove box USB with a black connector on the other end instead of a green. I then plugged the blk end into the output of the double USB hub in the front upper console and the other end into the glove box. I went ahead and ordered a new grn/gray cable, but just to test things out I spliced the left over ends to make a grn/gray cable. Plugged it in from the grn HMI to the input of the double USB hub in the upper front console  and now have car play at all three USB locations!

Go figure.

Thanks for providing this detail.  It difficult to fully understand the signaling flow and can only take things based on my personal tests :).  There are many that were successful in using the cables that I suggest while others are not.  Makes me think the output of the double USB is bad?  Anyhow, thanks for sharing this!

Check out my thread here so you have an understanding of all the requirements for this upgrade.  Then PM to order.  Thanks!

Harness and 2 USB cables based on your center console configuration.  Please see thread here.

    • I agree with Tim.  As tech heavy as engines are these days, no way I’d be an early buyer of the new 6.6.  Of course, I bought my ‘26 Denali w/the 6.2 after dumping my Tundra with it’s defective 3.5 liter imploding engine disaster, so I’m a little gun-shy.  That said, my 6.2 has been rock solid.  I don’t drive it like I do my BMW Z4 M40i, but I don’t baby it either.  I got a V8 for a reason.  But I’m averaging 18 around town and 22 highway.  I have seen 24 highway as well when I wasn’t loaded up heavy.  Considering my Tundra with the twin turbo V6 only got 14.5 in town and 17 on the road, I’ll take the 6.2 all day, every day.  If I were you, I’d grab a ‘26 while you can.  Inventories are probably gonna start dropping and I’ll bet the deals will start looking sweeter as well.
    • I am curious if anyone has figured out a way to add an hard button AUX or 360 Camera switch to the center row of switches. I have a 2021 AT4, and want to split the hill decent button and add a 360 camera button so that you don't have to go into the center display and locate the camera functionality, etc...   My father's 2024 Yukon XL AT4 and it has a hard button, see below. I found this thread on the Yukons, but it seems like there may not be a part number for the 2021 sierras. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/255339-adding-hard-button-for-camera-on-2021/ Anyone else figured this out. Seems like it would need to be a custom switch!   I am getting ready to install the auto stop/start eliminator, so would be nice to knock them out at once.     Upvote1Downvote0Go to comments
    • Looks like the entire state is burning. 😬
    • Through the years it hasn't been my typical method as I tried to drop oil on an engine that was hot from having been worked, however that was not always practical and had to fire up a unit and let it warm up reasonably well and drop the oil when I had the time to do it but am referring to not only vehicles but a variety of farm equipment and highway tractors etc. However on a vehicle where one is crawling under it and the exhaust is nearby to ones body and if wanting to pull the plug without danger of being hit with boiling hot oil or attempting to remove a HOT oil filter, its sure safer and easier to not have everything smoking hot and can remove the filter right away when under the vehicle and let it all drain. Of course its not the end of the world if a bit of oil stays in the engine that might have eventually found its way out, I like to get out as much as possible but any oil changes that take place in shops would rarely be sitting around for very long at all before the plug is thrown back in and filter slapped on and oil poured in and sent out the door quick like. There would be very little time spent ( assuming they even did it ) in starting the engine with oil to fill the filter, then waiting to verify the level on the stick. A good reason to check ones oil level shortly after a shop changed the oil on a vehicle just to make sure its correct and to look under for any oil around the drain plug or filter.
