I called them and asked if they had done any of these repairs. They have not. I am going to Simi Valley GMC as the have done a few of these. The  Service Advisor there was understanding and actually called me back to let me know he was ordering the specific caulking and hardware for my repair.

Well it passed the car wash test. We’ll see how long it lasts. Honestly, the spoiler was an unnecessary addition. Why add more holes to the roof, of all places, and another channel for water to collect?

Did you wash by hand or use a carwash? A drive through carwash does not let water sit long enough to start leaking. Usually sitting in the rain for at least an hour lets enough water pool to start leaking. Cross your fingers.

Yup, agree with the above reply.  You really need to get a hose and set it on top of the roof and let it run for 10-20 mins.  Of course if you’re in the North, that might be feasible right now.  But that’s how I water tested my sealant job.  Let the hose run with a steady flow of water.  I tested more than once (but you don’t have to.  I wanted to be sure before I button up the headliner again).

Actually that’s how I noticed my leak, after the drive thru car wash. Of course I was missing a foot of sealant. I have a work car due to the pandemic, they had us take vehicles home and stay out of the building so my truck hasn’t really seen inclement weather yet. It’s raining now so I’ll pull it out in the driveway and leave it out for a few hours. Good advice thanks.

Yep, in Ohio. It’s in the 30’s here so I’m not running a hose.

It seems like the problems on the newest trucks are sealant issues from production and not cracked frames.  Is that correct??

There was no mention of a cracked frame on mine. Just missing sealant. They still replaced the window

Who knows.

I don't believe anything they say unless I can see it for myself.

The sales people and service people all have to attend the same  "How to lie to the customer with a straight face"  class when hired, no matter the manufacturer or dealer.

Trust, but verify, has usually proven my cynical nature to be correct in past conversations and  with dealer personnel.

Couldn’t agree more with this.   Goes along with all those dealers/service advisors who never heard of a leaking rear window 2 years in now.

They must take the class along with truck dispatchers.

Howdy fellow leakers!! Long time no talk! I last posted waaaaaaaay back on page 122 of this post. When I started posting this thread was on like page 80....wow just wow.

Anyway, thought I would drop buy to deliver the news that my nightmare has finally been "compensated."

After 483 leaks (joking - I think I'm on like 6 leaks), 14 windows (another joke - this is window number 4), 2 headliners, 3 replacement C pillars from drunk service techs, dented roof from them layin their tools on the roof, black tar sealant all over my Silver Ice Metallic truck, overhead consoles falling out, DIC failures, brake failure, SD card failure, radio freak outs, 90+ days in the shop, more miles on my rental than my own truck, and a partridge in a pear tree........GM is settling with me for $15,000. I get to keep the truck, it does not get "branded" as a lemon. GM admits no fault whatsoever, and the balance of my warranty is still in effect (2 years and 24,000 some miles left.) Only took 1 entire year. They finally called my lawyer to settle the day after they were served with a court date (which took almost 4 months.)

One of the funniest parts of the settlement agreement is "GM admits no fault or wrongdoing WHATSOEVER." I can't even believe how disappointed I am with GM. I understand all man-made things are infallible. I understand all auto makers have problems with all cars. But to go out of their way to act like nothing is wrong???? Unreal. I especially love how the truck is "not branded as a lemon." As many of you can guess - as soon as I get the check I'll be trading this in and collecting my profit. Can you imagine the poor bastard that buys this thing? Keep that in mind next time your on the used car lot.........

Its disgraceful really after you spend thousand of your hard earned dollars with them.

What bugs me the most is some people on here who will defend GM to the death that GM does not have issues.

I'm not that naïve , as I know everyone has issues but this is pathetic .  I'm on fix #2 , well see if they can fix it right this time around.
