It's there along with trip, oil, tire pressure, etc

Do you have the Denali by chance? They may have a different DIC information then the other ones. I have not seen a fuel gauge on mine either.

Got my first service done today (at 6200 miles). Just thought I'd post a list of my results:

Oil change & tire rotation - Covered for free under the included 2yr Maintenance Program.

Service Update #13330 - fuel management system computer updated.

Service Update #13257 - BCM computer updated.

Service Update #13318 - power sliding window regulator ordered; will have to go back for install when part comes in.

Driver's seat squeaking - they acknowledged the sound but couldn't determine the cause... which is BS. It's obviously being caused by the leather rubbing against the plastic trim piece. I was in a hurry so didn't debate... I'll take deal with them when I bring my truck back for sliding window.

I can tell you there are these little clips or some crap that holds the bolster in place and they either worked their way loose or they've broken. There's a bulletin out about it. They fixed mine and it was fine (absolutely no squeek) but it came back about two days later and I haven't had time to take it back yet. I'm 6'0" and about 220 so I'm not the lightest dude out there but I'm not a total fat ass either. I would hope that these seats could support a 220lb man without falling apart...

Have any of the silverado owners experience any sort of problems while turning on your truck? Such as long revs or the starter stalling out when turning over? Every time I turn my truck on especially when it's cold, it takes longer than usual to turn on. Today after driving it all day, I jump back in to go to the post office and it started to rev and then stalled, then rev again. I called the dealer and set up an appointment for Tuesday. Let's see what new problem is accruing with these trucks.

I have been monitoring this thread since inception. I finally got my truck. I am not sure if it is because my truck is fresh off the line but... I only have on of the issues that have been discussed. That is the low resolution of the backup camera. It is pretty weak but other than that none of the ones mentioned. I did talk to the mechanic that prepped my truck. He said it had no outstanding updates upon receipt.

Now I'll drive it for a while and see if that holds out. I really appreciated knowing what to look for from all of you willing to share your details on this thread. Very helpful.

I have a 14 Sierra SLT.. Anyone having voltage drop while driving? It doesn't happen all the time but has been on and off. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm stopped at a stop light or going 65mph. I assume its in an acceptable range but am partially concerned about my alternator.

This is normal. The alternator will put out a charge based on load. As long as it's between the connected marks on both sides of the 14 you are good to go. It was this way on the 07-13 trucks as well.

Does anyone else have any experience on how their Forward Collision Alert is working good experiences preferably but bad also?

I am looking to purchase a new 2014 truck. I stopped by my Chevrolet dealer a few days ago to drive a 2014 Silverado 1500 with Forward Collision Alert. Was introduced to the so called truck sales expert and unfortunately at the end of my test drive was not impressed with the collision system.

Had a person that I did not notice or see, that walked by just in front of the truck as we were waiting to pull out of a service station driveway. I did not nor did the truck notice them as they were walking by. I only saw her as she cleared the front of the truck. Never did see any indication on the windshield at any time during the test drive. Did notice some small symbols on the speedometer area that flashed – would be sure to get into an accident if I were using that to detect approaching trouble. Did feel the seat vibrate a few time as I intentionally drifted out of a lane. The vibration alert was almost unfelt on the left side of my seat, right side was somewhat better.

Thanks

The forward collision alert only works when you are driving. It has caught my attention a few times, so it definitely works. The Lane Departure works great too. Only the side that you drifted to will vibrate.
