Of course there is going to be more people with vibration problems on this forum. Do you really think that the people without the problem would sign up for a forum to read about other peoples problems ? I stumbled across this forum when I had a vibration, that was cleared up with tires.

1. So from your post it is your belief that people only come on this forum because they have an issue with their truck? News flash, many of the members have been coming to this forum for years, and have been loyal GM customers for years.

I'm sure many owners come to this forum. However, I'm willing to bet that the only people following this thread have either experienced the shaking problem or heard about it. I started following this thread because my 2015 Silverado LT shook like crazy the second I got near 50mph. My problem was solved with tires and my dealer was great. It seems to me that most of the vehicles mentioned here had the problem solved by changing their tires out. I feel bad for those that weren't so lucky but I truly believe they are a very small minority. I love my truck and so do three of my friends who have 2014's of their own.

What are you accomplishing by taking my post out of context. Did you even read the posts by myself and BD431 before responding. BD431 said "do you really think that people without the problem would sign up for a forum". The key word here is "FORUM".

Edit: And if he's trying to say that members without the vibration, won't come here and read what members with the vibrations are posting then that's BS, because they seem to keep posting quotes that down play the issues others are having.

And I also know that members without the vibration come here because they are waiting to purchase a new truck and want to make sure GM has a solution for the issue before purchasing. Some members come here just to stay current on the issue.

Thinking that only members with the vibration come to this thread is ridiculous.

deniers will continue to be deniers no matter the truth.

they have a vested interest in telling themselves this isn't true because they cant accept that GM no longer stands for quality and they don't stand behind what they sell anymore.

it goes against years and years of unquestioned brand loyalty and in the past it was well deserved but no more and THAT is the problem these deniers have, they cannot admit even to themselves that GM is selling lemons and telling customers to go pound sand over it.

its like the husband in denial about the wife sleeping around even after you show them the pictures, they just cant accept the truth

if this were just a few trucks having issues like the deniers want to believe so desperately, then GM would instantly replace them without question and write off the tiny loss of a few trucks so the very fact that they refuse to do this says its a HUGE widespread issue and they know would go bankrupt if they took back all of these lemons so that's where we are, left with no choice but getting lawyers to sue them.

I hate my truck so much my son just bought one after riding in mine a few times. The salesman he got it from, the same one I bought mine from drives one too. Im not making it up, he happens to be my ex son in law. How stupid is that or maybe denier who be a better word. I realize people may have problems, my experience is that I haven't run into one in person yet. Rest assured if I have a problem I will post it and get rid of it.

YA !!!!!! BREAK OUT THE PITCHFORKS !!!!!

YA !!!!!! BREAK OUT THE PITCHFORKS !!!!!

That would be redundant. GM is already using pitchforks when assembling these trucks.

If this wasn't a very large and widespread issue, why did the service writer at the dealership where I was taking my lemon 14 GM say "we have a ton of problem trucks out there...in fact not a single one on the lot doesn't have the vibration problem"?

If it were just a tiny amount of trucks ....why do all the used lots for dealerships have a bunch of 14 GM for sale? Geesh the Ford dealer I go to now has 3 sitting out front. I've never seen so many people get out of their brand new truck for another brand...coincidence??

If it's so easily fixed with tires why did two GM engineers swap my tires, rims, drive shaft, shocks and still not fix the shakes mine had causing my to dump it??

If those 14's are so great why are the lots full of them? So full GM stalled releasing the 15's for two months! ....and now GM is offering people 0% and $9000 off if they go buy a 14 GM truck?

If the 14's are so great...why did Consumer Reports drop the 14 GM truck from their Recommended vehicle list, listing quality and reliability problems?

WAY too many people are in complete denial. GM turned a corner. They used to care about their customers and they build a quality product. Now they could give a &$%# less about customers, and they build the cheapest, piece if garbage on 4 wheels. I owned on for 8 miserable months and everything about it was cheap and flimsy....quality has taken a back seat as far as GM is concerned. Those 14's will not last on the road...mark my words. They're built to fall apart...and mine was falling apart in probably 10 different ways with only 11000 miles on it.

It's not about being in denial. And yes, you're points are well taken and noted and with truth. Sure, some '14's have problems and probably more than normal or should be and I don't deny that but I still think the number of trucks that don't vibrate much out weight the ones that do. And the 'early '15's are having the same issues because of the carry over crappy parts and tires from '14. Poor parts? for the most part yes. Poor quality control? For the most part yes. Poor service depts.? Some, but not all. Even though my truck is fine, I know there are lots that aren't. But the percentage of trucks that couldn't be fixed with tires, balancing, ring/pinions etc. is small compared to the fixed trucks and vibration free trucks. That's all I'm saying.

I joined this forum while researching e85 for these trucks since it was the first flexfuel vehicle I've owned. Not because of any problems with my truck. I have a slight vibration above 70 mph which is more noticeable when going uphill on one stretch of freeway I frequent. It doesn't bother me that much and I never gave it much thought until I stumbled upon this thread and then it became more apparent to me that it could be a legitimate issue that I sometimes noticed. I have not asked my dealership to look at it. I've been following this thread to stay informed of others experiences and to know if GM possibly comes up with a fix for others. I really enjoyed my truck and so far I think its a great vehicle. I've also been following another thread on this forum about what people love about their 14/15 trucks. Its a nice read. But I dont totally disagree or discredit anyone on here who has issues and feel the truck is subpar. I'm sure there are some true lemons out there.

You should check a dictionary before you quote me and call me ridiculous. And you should go back and read my post before you call me a denier. You keep using the word forum. This is one thread in a forum that includes threads with people complaining about AND praising their trucks. Of course I read your posts. You are claiming a 50% vibration rate because of some vote started in a THREAD about vibrating trucks. Of course the vote will be skewed because most of the people posting on this THREAD, not all of as you claim I said, are having vibration issues. Myself included. That's why I started reading this THREAD in the first place. My problem happened to be easy to fix and my dealer happened to be great. I was lucky and stated that I felt bad for those not as lucky. I never denied anything.

Easy now, don't get so stressed out pal. You should take your own advise and read my post again. When did I say you denied anything or that you were a DENIER, if thats even a word. I believe you have me mistaken with another member as far as the denier part goes. If your issue is fixed with tires and balance then take your own advise and stop posting on this thread. And yes, duh, I know the difference between a thread and a forum. The other guy kept saying forum when he meant thread.

I have removed the remainder of my post due to content not recommended for children.

I posted my opinion and you chose to call it ridiculous. I reacted. I posted here hoping that the fact that tires cured my vibration problem would help those looking for a fix for their problem. I never advised anyone to stop posting here. Not sure where you got that from. The word 'denier' was used by keakar in his comment that was a direct response to the post where you called my opinion ridiculous. If anything is ridiculous it's the thought that more than 50% of the 2014/15 Silverado/Sierra trucks are vibrating so badly that the lemon law needs to be used and this hasn't made the news yet. I didn't say that only people with vibration issues are following this thread but it is my opinion that most of the people following this thread have either heard about the vibration issue or have experienced it firsthand like I did. I never denied that people are having issues. I feel badly for those that were unable to cure their problem with changing out tires but it's my opinion that those trucks are a very small percentage of the trucks out there. I also believe that the number of dealers not helping their customers cure this problem is very small. Again. My opinion. I don't really care if you agree with my thoughts or not but don't think I'm just going to sit back and be called ridiculous without reacting. That would be ridiculous.

if you look at the shake/vibration poll it's at 50% with those owners who have voted.

You really got to start reading posts before attempting to reply to them. I never said 50% of the 2014/15 GM trucks vibrate. I said its at 50% with those who have voted. You guys are twisting my wording and putting a spin on what I said. Get with the program, please.

Also, if Keakar said you were a denier then you need to take that up with him not me.

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
