They took apart my front diff and replaced the ring gear (4x4 vibration that I honestly didn't even notice but the shop foreman did) and put new Michelin LTX MS2 on it (for the high speed vibration), road forced, and voila, it's fixed!! :):).

Did your front diff make any noticeable noise when in Auto or 4wd? I can almost always hear mine when in either. I never heard anything with my 2005.

This type of treatment will hurt them in the long run . People are becoming more aware of this problem but more importantly is how they screw you around around.. Not right

4 appointments service manager forgot what he told me, second one he set up and wasn't even there. 3 hour round trip for nothing thanks Ray Service manager at Somerset Kenny Ross

 

They say not suppose to use auto . Keep in 2 wd then why did you make auto ?

Still shakes In 2 wd

I suppose you should not use your auto transmission either. Make sure you change all the gears manually from now on. :rolleyes:

That's funny about manual! This is a bad joke. Talking Ray at Somerset Service manger has an anawer for everything to the point he forgets what he Is saying!

The funny but sad thing is I could put a hitch on a car and have better luck!!

Try towing in 2 wd with trailer and heavy stuff! Watch the back tires spin !! Auto is an option only in the snow and rain. Is what they told me! But on question is ???? Why do is the whole truc shake Ray????

Who knows if this would cause any sort of vibration but I found this a little odd. Maybe it's normal or within spec who knows but I thought I'd share. It finally warmed up enough over the weekend so I could put my mud flaps on when I noticed on the rears I had a harder time fitting my fingers and hand in behind the wheel on the passenger side trying to put the screws back in the wheel well. So I took a measurement and found the passenger side rear wheel 1cm closer to the back of the wheel opening than the drivers side. I verified the 1cm difference measuring towards the front of the wheel openings too. Anyone else ever notice this or care to take a quick measurement on yours? What do you guys think of this?

That has to be the craziest thing I've seen :nonod:

 

I don't see how that could be in spec's, but then again the wizard ( GM engineer )

thought that if they loosened all the body mounts and re torque them that would

make the vibration between 62 & 75 disappear :nopity:

They want to do vibration test

How do I know they are even doing it correctly

Ask them for a copy of the procedure.

2014 GMC all-terrain package unresolved vibration issues started bringing this truck back to the dealership after 17 days of ownership. Rf tires no change, had really bad vibration in rear end at 80 mph , dealership replace complete rear end , pick up truck from dealership test drove it had a really bad vibration in the steering wheel made my hands numb after driving,kept complaining about this issue until a vibration specialist is a test on truck and determine ring in pinon was bad, new ring and pinion made vibration a little less in steering wheel ,but still a problem dealership says they cannot do any more for this truck they said to cal lGM corporate , So I did and had a customer service agent tell me there was nothing wrong with my truck so therefore they could not do anything for me,found out only 50% of lemon law cases are won due to vibration issues also dealership says they will not even give me book value for this new truck,I stood behind the GMC name for over 30 years unfortunately GM does not stand behind their customers or their products .

2014 GMC all-terrain package unresolved vibration issues started bringing this truck back to the dealership after 17 days of ownership. Rep. who made the final call, so I had to deal with the C/S person who could not even comment on exact and directed

questions and it was day's before I'd get an answer back in the three way cluster ! and don't even get me started about the engineer ordeal ! GM is running so fast to cover up something that they have been fully aware of since 08/2013 and I'm

sure well before that, they are the post child of disorganization they even sent me the final paper work to a Cadillac buy

back in Florida instead of mine !

 

And to add more insult, I just read on this very site that there are now transmission issues on the 8spd, I had the 6sp in mine and that it rose 200 to 300 rpms on the up shift and was deemed as " Normal Operation" :banghead:

 

Save all your paperwork, Take names and numbers of EVERYONE you talk to from GM & dealerships and note the dates & times as well !

Who knows if this would cause any sort of vibration but I found this a little odd. Maybe it's normal or within spec who knows but I thought I'd share. I would take the truck in for alignment and make sure that the rear axle is properly mounted on the spring seats. It is a rigid axle and if it not mounted straight, then you will have issues. 1 cm (3/8") difference is a bit much.

There are quite a few places to get a 3/8 difference between bed mounts and maybe even the sheet metal. You should measure from a place on the chassis to the wheel to get a true measurement.
