Let Chevrolet know how you were treated by one of their dealers. I assume you are working with a case manager, I would absolutely pass that type of experience along.

From personal experience during my dispute, GM customer service is horrible. I've since sent 3 emails, posted on Facebook and Twitter (all GM pages) about my disappointment in how I've been treated by them ... Not one SINGLE reply.

Im starting to think some of these posts are fakes...

If you are referring to me, We just bought the truck. Had a friend here in Sarasota tell use about the probem so we are here getting information.

We know someone that just bought a Sierra SLT Z71 last week and has less than 1,000 miles on it and went down to Key West and felt the vibration. First thing she did was start googling.

Just went to my Chevrolet dealer to drive another truck. Took a 2015 CC with 20s and thing shook the crap out of you at 74. We took it back and we asked the salesman if he'd drivin it at 74, he said no he only got to 70. Went in told the manager that at 74 it was jnbearable(seriously, no where near as bad as the GMCs we drove) and he said it's probably time we buy something else. Then proceeded to tell us he'd bet us $1000 it wouldn't bother him. WTF. You don't say that. Because you're on. My Husband said lets go and of course he didn't have time. I looked him straight in the eye and said "yes, it will bother you". We will NOT be returning to that dealership to purchase a vehicle EVER.

 

Edit: it had 31 miles on it when we took it.

GM and SOME Dealers really could care less, Record profits are their main concern :nonod:

 

It this would have happend to me I'd light them up on line ! It's bad enough that GM will not admit to an issue

but to insult someones intellengence...No reason for that !

This has been our service dealership and they have been nothing but awesome. The sales people have all been awesome except for this guy. Funny, because when I showed him the video of one of HIS loaners on Tuesday he was SHOCKED. Now, today it "wouldn't bother him". Please, he's shady as all hell and the sales guy wordlessly apologized about him on our way out. If we end up with another Chevy I will continue bringing it to that dealership for service, but no way will I ever give them a dime!

Busy weekend, Installed some new amp power steps and got the sulastic shackles installed as well. My conclusion is that I'm getting too damn old to be rolling underneath a truck and wrenching on it.

 

The shackles are a giant pain in the ass to install. In theory it's 4 bolts 2 each side, in actuality you have to completely remove the hitch and unbolt the entire bed to get those 4 bolts out. Install instructions are generic and meant for all trucks. I can put a detailed install walk through together if anyone is interested that plans on installing them themselves, should be able to shave some time knowing the obstacles you'll encounter during the process. Took about 4 hours working at a moderate pace by myself.

 

Ride height stayed the same. I have only put a few miles on them since finishing the install today. Overall ride quality has significantly improved around town 45 mph +/-. The small imperfections in the road surface no longer make their way into the cab, Ride on the freeway appears to be significantly improved as well but I'll have better data on that after Tuesday, I only hit the freeway to check their influence on the 70+ vibrations, which is the million dollar question I'm sure everyone wants to know the answer to. First test, vibrations are still there slightly mitigated at their worst speed which for me is 72 mph. The one thing that I did notice which I need to collect more data on before I can say for sure is that the range in which they occur has narrowed down to between 70 and 75 where they used to be felt at 68 - 85 mph.

 

Ride improvement: undoubtedly but comes with a trade off in the form of increased body roll which is to be expected with more compliant suspension, If the ride improvement is significant after more testing I'm going to install a hellwig rear sway bar to fix the body roll issue, which makes this endeavor now $750.

Vibration Fix: Definitely not (on my truck at least) slight improvement... Maybe time will tell

Worth $400 and 4 hours and getting covered in the black sludge gm puts all over the frame of these trucks: not sure yet. Post my thoughts Tuesday night after more miles and hours. Any other questions or something particular regarding these shackles just reply to this post.

That matches up to the K2XX pretty well except for the step where you raise the rear end up to get the top bolt out. On our trucks there is a pinch weld directly above the spring that doesn't allow you to raise the spring up far enough to remove the bolt. you have 2 options, Cut a notch into the pinch weld for the spring to clear or unbolt the bed and lift the bed off the frame about 1/2" to allow the spring to raise up high enough to get the bolt out. I took some pictures of it that I'll post later after I download them from my phone.

Ok, so I swapped my 22's (Bridgestone Dueller A/T RH-S) for my 18's (Goodyear Wrangler SRA with the whit outline, not black) and did a fair amount of driving today here are my impressions:

 

The 18's lead to a very "floaty" feel of the ride, the road noise is also increased. The ride doesn't really seem to have changed at low speeds, the truck still has a light vibration, once I hit about 40-45 or so up to about 55-60 the vibration became much worse, even worse than the 22's, and a couple time the truck started to shake/ rock to either side. my truck has never done this before. above 60 mph or so, the vibration is about equivalent to the 22's.

 

a second thing that happened was the TPMS system stopped working, when i swapped them yesterday, it was fine as was the case for the first 45 mins or so today. however once I hit the highway today, i got the "service" warning and the Tire Pressure light came on. thinking maybe I picked up a nail and was losing air or something, I pulled over and checked all the tires, got back in the truck and looked at the pressure readings, my right rear tire wasnt listed. I shut the truck off to try to reset it, but it didn't work. Shortly there after the other three tires lost their pressure readings. just to clarify, the rocking side to side happened after I lost the Pressure sensor system, no clue if or why that would affect anything, but I highly doubt it should.

 

 

now for a question, I was talking to a guy with a new silverado today, hes had it for 800 miles now, and has had to replace the battery 4 times, also his radio will not turn off even after he turns the truck off, and leaves. he says that even 15 mins after leaving the truck, he can go back out and the radio will still be playing. I have found some posts from years ago indicating that it is either a relay in the door, or a switch sticking somewhere else in the truck. has anyone seen this in their new ones or heard of it being a big issue with other new trucks? I havn't so just thought I'd check, ohh and his dealer said that they think the radio is bad, but GM didnt authorize a replacement so they wouldn't spend $700 of their own money to try it.

Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
