My thought of the flex plate or torque converter being out of balance is out of question i think because if they were out of balance it would do it in park as you rev the engine and mine does not its smooth as glass, but i turned several corners today and powered into hard and it still had the vibration every time. Wonder if it isnt something with the engine mounts being to stiff, but they are supposedly hydraulic so they should take up the engine vibration when loaded. Im lost on it

I am not experiencing vibration when accelerating on either 2014 I have.

The Z71 has a 5.3 and the High Country has the 6.2.

I do not think it is normal.

I have never had a vehicle that vibrated during acceleration that it was normal.

Perhaps it is normal to the dealer because he has a bad batch of trucks that are doing this.

Anybody have the motor shimmed with success. I've seen a couple folks claim it solved their problems on other forums and it was mentioned once early on here, but that's it.

I was told by my dealer that was for a vibration at idle only. But if it has fixed the vibration while driving too I would like to know more about it. It just seems too easy and cheap.

Hey Silver Spaceship, shouldn't you change your forum name to "Silver Shakeship"?

Just kidding, I hope you get those vibration problems resolved. I have been there with vehicles before and it definitely can be frustrating.

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 5.3 crew cab All Terrain Package with this same vibration. I have had it at the dealer twice now with the first time the service writer telling me it was the nature of the beast and the second time the right front tire being replaced but no success. I have now asked the dealer to support me as my issue is not with them but with GM and have asked to have a sit down with a zone rep. I love the style and ride of the truck but if I want to drive a vehicle with a vibration I will get on one of my Harleys. I have yet to hear back from the dealer but will call tomorrow, in addition I will be filing a claim with the BBB and blowing up every message board possible stating facts until this issue is either resolved or GM buys my truck back. I prefer keeping my truck but fully willing and able to take the matter to arbitration/litigation if need be. I suggest everyone else having this problem follows suits as there is strength in numbers! Good luck to everyone that is having this same issue and hope resolution turns out well for you.

Harleys only vibrate at idle - it is the nature of the beast. Once underway they smooth out quite nice.

I'll try that later today. If that is when it is happening to you then I would suspect a bad u-joint or incorrectly installed joint. I say that because when you accelerate hard like that the rear end twists the pinion into a higher angle which could make an existing problem worse.

Will let you know what I find.

So I accelerated at full throttle the other day and found that my truck also vibrates through 1st gear. Actually stops vibrating shortly before the shift to 2nd. Leads me to believe its in the trans.

Mine is just like yours, but it don't have to be full throttle just accelerating hard

PM26 - My 08 Streetglide at idle yes my 78 Sportster vibrates and my 91 Springer with a 140hp TP motor throbs. Needless to say none are stock since stock bikes suck and all operate/ run and ride as I intended and expect them to. My truck should not do any of those things and is definitely not up to the quality I expect. As an FYI my truck is back in the shop as of yesterday with the dealer now hooking up vibrations sensors to it and oh yeah now that I opened and closed the sliding back window for the first time it sounds like a bag of microwave popcorn as I go down the road. Again the quality I knew and loved with my 08 Silverado Z71 LTZ does not exist in this truck.

I had this happen too. I thought it might be the traction control kicking in until one day the traction control kicked in on some sand and it was totally different. It was after this vibration that I starter to pay attention to the ride and noticed I had a vibration at other times too but not nearly as bad as when I floored it from a rolling start.

Thinking back on when this happened while hard accelerating I would call it a shudder rater then vibration. I know they technically mean the same thinking but if you had this happen to you you know what I'm talking about.

I get the same thing. You feel that shutter under the floor of the truck when you punch it. The vibration/shake happens at higher speeds driving normally, like when you have a wheel/tire out of balance. Of course it must be something else because everyone, including myself, with so many tire changes, balancing, etc. has helped little to not at all.

My money is still on torque converter. Someone on this thread even had theirs replaced then replaced again with a new computer module that tells it how to operate and they say the truck is smooth as class. After they went through the tire and drive shaft circus.

Could you post that thread if you can find it?
