I haven't seen the spray in liner listed as an option online- is it certain configurations only? Either way, I'd do Line-X over any OE offering, I just don't think anyone can do it better.

That's a good question. The spray-on liner isn't mentioned anywhere on the window sticker either. :dunno:

I know lots of dealers will do spray ins, some brand name and others not so much. I got mine at Portsmouth Chevy and had them do Line-X right there before I took delivery. I know Rhino feels softer than Line-X but it seems to hold up good. My brother has it in his 2002 Ranger and it's done ok other than fade considering what he puts that truck through.

Why did they go and put the oil fill on the opposite side?

I can tell you that the engine compartment isn't all that cramped. I think the picture makes it look worse than it is.

really??... does it really matter? This is hilarious... It's not like you are opening the hood and checking your fluids everyday like in your 1970 C10.

You never need to add fluids to these trucks between your service intervals. If you do.. something is wrong. And even then the DNC will let you know without checking. Hell 90% of owners may never open the hood. Who cares if it looks cramped.

I don't. I was simply responding to others who had commented about it...

Probably to clear something that mounts on the passenger side. Looking at photos of the LT1 at least it seems with how the exhaust manifolds hug the block space is tight and on the passenger side the starter motor occupies what little space there is.

I care. Some people keep a vehicle for more than a few years, like my parents for example. Eventually you'll have to fix something if you have it long enough, and it's nice to have room to work.

You think the Ram has an open underhood area? On the 5.7 it looks like a Ford with nearly half the engine under the cowl. The plastic is there to quiet the GDI system. They're noisy.

I'm sure it is the positioning of the motor in the dodge but looking under the hood of my dads, it seems way more open than mine does.

I pop the hood almost every time I fuel up, this is on a truck that uses no oil... It doesn't hurt to check on things.

These trucks aren't very crowded IMO, much better than most new vehicles.

Zane you say it is more composed off road, in what aspects?

Less vibration comes through the steering wheel and suspension. The rear does not hop around on rutted or washboard roads. I should specify that when I said off-road i should have said on dirt roads and not paved roads.

Just so everyone is aware: I'm taking off in the morning to go drive the High Country / Denali and the 6.2L in Texas. Josh will continue this live review while I'm gone. Look for my live first drive of the up-level trucks in two days!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the 6.2.
