Asked my dealer to fix the seat for the second time, but they again just left the clamps on the seat. I know it works this way, but I want it done right. I'll be trying the other dealer in the area if this happens a third time. Three strikes your out.

As far as buying a new truck. These are the most complicated trucks yet and will have more areas to have issues, so to have the most issues ever with your truck is not shocking. Some of these issues are just stupid and that is the part that sucks.

First take the truck for a overnight test drive after you work your way into a better tire in the deal as these tires are junk. Just look at the stock vs the Michelin ratings on tirerack (links below). Next the factory radio reception is not good, so unless you don't use modern media it could be an issue to you. The info system is slow, but it works okay. The lights are weak, but they have an upgrade to cover that already. The seat also, and with a newer truck it should be right already, unless it's a lot lizard. Most of all you have a warranty and laws to cover you. The odds of you having a total bad luck really is unlikely. There are more people on here without issues than with and there are way more trucks on the road than members here. Keep in mind people come here to find help when they have issues, but don't much to rave about it much unless they are the enthusiast type. In other words you are getting a filtered look at the community of owners by coming here.

Under surveys you will see 7.9 would buy again against the stock tires 3.9 would buy again. This is not just from owners of this truck it's just the tires are not good.

This is what I found regarding the dealer fix and seems to be really recent: http://vitalysmobileautodiagnostics.com/archives/6522. Seems like the black piece will do the trick(similar to what others are doing with the hose clamps). It also looks like you can put this piece on without taking the whole seat apart as well. It seems like they are taking the seat apart just to add the grease under the white pivot blocks. The other part, the white round shim washer is already on my truck from the factory. So I might just add the black part as preventative maintenance.

I had brought my truck into the dealer once before for the seat movement and they told me they had no fix. Today I had about all I could take of the dam 'Lateral' seat movement and was just about to grab the flashlight and tools and do some investigating of my own. Glad I read this post first.....although I went through about 8 pages before I jumped to the end and discovered that there was a fix. I suggest a moderator move all the possible resolutions/fixes to the front page....with the most successful one at the top. Scheduling an appointment with local dealer as soon as I can to get this resolved....was driving me nuts!

Just curious as I have seen a lot of off hand comments about moderators needing to do this and that. How much do the moderators get compensated for their work here? Is there a place where you can donate some dollars to support the forum and make specific requests for extra work from a moderator if they are working for free?

Upgrade for lights?? as in head lights??, I have the standard head lights and they are not near as bright as my 07 and 11 silverado, is there a fix for that from GM or after market??

I have 23000 on my Goodyear Wranglers that came with a truck, so far they are wearing quite well and holding up well on off road rocks etc. I had been a fan of wranglers on my 2011 silverado till had bad experience with second set (discount said they changed their tire production) they sucked so I went with Michelon, but so far these wranglers seem to be back to their old standards?

There is a thread about it. German light and BCM flashed for more voltage. It's new so not going to be common knowledge at all dealers yet. Not sure how much it helps.

I'm so effin pissed right now and have totally lost all trust in GM. I called the dealer (Tustin Buick GMC in Tustin CA) on Thursday explaining the seat movement to Tony Razo who made it seam like he knew what I was talking about and scheduled for me to come in Monday 03-02-15. They had my truck all day and when I called to follow up they said they needed to keep it overnight to look at it more. Then 15 minutes later I got a call my truck was done. When I get to the dealer they hand me this pathetic excuse of an invoice and tell me they couldn't find anything and found nothing wrong. Then when I showed them the 'vitalysmobile' writeup for the seat fix, he tried telling me....oh...we know its an issue but the fix they were doing doesn't work so there not doing it anymore, but proceeded to copy the part numbers down from the article....what a bunch of bs...and if it was true then why couldn't he just tell me that over the phone when I called to schedule a fix for lateral seat movement. He then starting reading me the explanations on the invoice as if he was providing a totally legit justifications for why he couldn't find anything...really....tint was the reason they couldn't find a rattle on the door....I'm completely livid. Of course they didn't find any of the vibration issues, transmission issues or clunk heard when accelerating from a start because they never drove the vehicle. (14904 Miles in / 14904 Miles out)...wtf!. Then he proceeded to tell me that my 33" aftermarket tires voided my warranty. If there is a class action suit going on that people know about please let me know......GM thinks we all have STUPID written on our foreheads. Better call Sol!.....Vent over!

Bull, the dealers should be using PI1376 which was released 12-10-14. There is now way they can say this is not working, its too new. Other uses have said this worked for them. The dealers where doing something prior to the new PI release and I think it was just replacing the white pivot blocks and added new grease which didn't work for them. That is why many people used the hose clamps. Maybe the PI(preliminary release) is too preliminary for them or they are just being lazy and not checking the dealer network.

Ended up calling another dealer close by that is familiar with all the reported issues. Only one phone call, but extremely knowledgable and provided logical explanations to couple common issues and provided detail steps for diagnostic techniques for everything. Scheduling appt there as soon as schedule allows...and calling service manager at Tustin GMC to give them a piece of my mind...extremely pathetic and total lack of professionalism and service. Anyone in so-cal....don't take your truck to Tustin....trust me. i should have known better to leave my truck with them...some guy chewing them a new one for bringing his suv in 3 times for twilight issue that still wasn't fixed. They are definitely not doing things right over there. I'll report back about the seat fix after taking it in to the other dealer.

You can become a supporting or lifetime member of the forum.

Don't know if I'm paranoid or not but my driver seat seems to lean to the left. I guess ill have them check it out when I go in next.

Driving home today I could feel a click for the better use of words toward the back right side of the seat. I can also lean left and it moves down a little as well. Damnit man

If you have seat movement problem, ask for a really corpulent technician to check it out and to confirm. The seat is far more likely to move under a 300 lb guy than under a 150 lb one. Yes, I know this sounds ridiculous, but sometimes you need to be a little devious to prove your point.

That's a good idea lol!

I originally thought my cousin that I bought the truck from (well over 300lbs) messed up the left side of the seat as I could hear it rubbing against the plastic trim for the seat controls. (He drove it around initially for me to test drive) After reading some and thinking about it, I'm sure far bigger bodies use these trucks, so I wrote him being the cause of the problem off lol.

I'm 5'8 170 lbs and I can tell I sit sideways toward the left now. Thought I was being paranoid, but I may not be after re-reading most of this thread. Now every time I get in, I feel like I can get comfortable in the seat.

Side note: I also noticed the bottom set of seat warmers aren't seeming to warm up like they did when I first got the truck. Turned them on this morning and my back was almost sweating with my butt still cold. Going to test them out a little bit this evening to see if it's an issue or not.

I'm due for my first oil change soon, so I'll ask about anything I have noticed then. I may come with a binder full of TSB's and forum threads printed out for them to look into lol.

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
