Does GM ever actually survey owners feedback??

I haven't received a single survey for my GMC. Received one for my Cruze and 2 on my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I have had 5 GM vehicles in 4 years. Guess they figure I am happy.

This is the first vehicle I've received a survey on, and in fairness to the dealer/GM I've waiting for them to work out my issues before filling out... I still have a couple 'negative' marks to give the dealer, but some high praise for at least one individual at the dealer who actually seemed to care about me after I leased the truck.

That being said... Did anyone's dealer 'coach' them on how to fill out the survey? I had at least two individuals tell me that anything less that the best mark on a survey was viewed by GM as a negative and that I should talk to someone before filling out the survey anything less than 'superior' or whatever the top 'score' is. I felt uneasy about the coaching.

I just received a phone call from GM after filling out the customer survey on line. I wrote a complaint on some paint issues inside a door. I am planning on calling the back tomorrow to see what they are going to do to fix the issue. So yes, the do read the surveys.

I forgot to mention that I also bashed two dealerships in San Antonio for basically blowing me off. I originally wanted to buy a $40,000 truck. I had to buy through a USAA approved dealership. On my third attempt, I received the auto emails from San Antonio but no phone call. I received one phone call from a dealership in Austin, and from there all our communication was done via email. I found another truck that I liked and they set it up for me. The sticker price ended up being for $52,000.

So it may be that they want to talk about the dealerships in San Antonio and not the paint issue. Ooops.

I guess I was hoping for GM to reach out a little better to those who opened their wallets and bought a first year production model. I mean if fast food restaurant's are constantly reaching out to customers who just bought a 99cent hamburger and wanting to know how they liked it? Why can't GM ask someone who just shelled over $50,000 how they like the product they just spent their hard earned money on? just wondering?

My sentiments exactly. 1 survey "thru GM", but really just for how the dealership treated me.

Maybe some GM Reps on here can chime in.....

Above all else folks... just remember that the dealer surveys that arrive from GM are asking how your dealer has looked after you. They aren't asking how GM looks after you of how the quality of your truck is.

A bad survey doesn't tell GM anything about GM or your truck, it only hurts your dealer. Completely Satisfied is the only answer that tells GM your dealer is adequate. If you can't rate your answers as completely satisfied... give your dealer a shot at fixing your concern 1st!

I've received 2 surveys from GM. The 1st was about the dealer. The 2nd I got a month or so after I got the truck and that one was just about the truck itself.

I've owned a lot of GM vehicles over the years and the only time I was ever contacted about the vehicle itself was with our 1994 Buick Roadmaster. In that case the main line of questioning was about the cupholders which I could not have cared less about.

lol The cup holders are annoying to me. I pull into a drive though Dunkin Donuts every morning and the coffee cup doesn't fit well. It is in a awkward place to reach, I have a regular cab so the three cup holders fold up to be part of the 3rd person seating .. So why do they even put 3 cup holders????

    • I have a 2026 2500 HD Ultimate. My phone app says there’s a software update available. It’s something about improved battery management and something to do with the running boards. I follow the instructions for the update but the “Check for Updates” option is greyed out in my settings menu. Has anyone else seen this? How did you resolve it? The help message just says “see your dealer” if the download doesn’t work. I’m just trying to save a trip.
    • Fuel mileage?  That's all how you use your right foot.  Exhaust will give you sound.   Stock exhaust 5.3 is 2.75" diameter piping.     If the truck is nice and worth putting some $$ into it, I'd go for a Corsa catback.  I had one on my 2019 old body 5.3 and it was just perfect.  Zero drone, just driving around and cruising on the highway you'd think it was stock, but when you opened it up it was like a Camaro with the factory dual mode.  Corsa bumps their catback to 3in diameter.
