Warping on 2015 Dash My First GM

Hi all,

Long time lurker. I recently purchased a 2015 1500 AT in the end of October. It's my first GM truck and so far I'm digging it. I needed a bigger truck since my family has grown. I had a 2010 Tundra DC which was getting way too tight in the back. So I opted for the Crew Cab to accommodate the growing kids. I haven't done any mods to it yet but I'm planning on it. I'll be putting a clear bra on the lower bumper and installing the Bilstein 5100's in a few weeks.

I did notice one issue which I have not seen raised in the forums. It started when the temperature dropped to around 60's-50's. I never noticed it before during the warm days. It seems the dash area between the leather and plastic part of the windshield vent is warping. I've attached a picture fo all to see. Has anyone ran into this issue? I've got an appointment with the dealership for my first oil change tomorrow and plan on addressing it with them then. I sure hope this isn't a preview of all kinds of problems. post-151748-0-49563900-1450464019_thumb.jpg

My dash does the same thing just like many others sometimes its there and sometimes its not sort of like the vibrations. :smash:

Oh boy. :happysad:

Thanks EastCoast -- much appreciated!

Well, that dash is one of many cheaply made parts installed on your truck. With some luck, you will not have serious issues, but I would not rule out a few more annoying issues in the future.

I have the same thing on mine. Can't say that because my truck has a wave in the upper dash that my truck is susceptible to other problems. It's all perspective I guess, I'll take a wavy dash any day of the week vs a vibrating driveline. I see the new F150s have a similar issue.

Yeah I've already found a few that I think I can live with. But man for a 40k+ truck, you'd think GM would address these cheaply made parts.

The whole bumper paint chip thing I could live with, I'm installing a clear bra.

Back up camera being low quality, yeah I agree it's crap but it's doing its job.

Headlight projector, I would like a bit more umph on the visibility area but compared to my previous truck it's not that bad.

Crossing my fingers I don't get that vibrating issue.

Update: at the dealership right now for my first oil change. The tech is ordering a new panel. But I mentioned I don't think that'll solve the issue. It was mentioned on the other thread it had something to do with the panel or clips not having the appropriate space to expand. Anyway, I guess we'll see what happens. Oh he's also checking to see if there were any updates on the software. I had this issue where my steering controls wouldn't recognize my favorite lists.
