Mark Reuss hinted that GMC was not done making news with the 2019 Sierra during the brand's live event last Thursday. A "late-March" time-frame was floated as a date when enthusiasts would hear more about the next steps for the brand. Today, we know just a little bit more.

This morning media invites went out for March 26th, ahead of this year's 2018 New York International Auto Show's Press Days. GMC hopes to draw journalists and media in with promises that "The recent reveal of the next generation 2019 Sierra was just the beginning..."

What does that mean? Does GMC have additional models ready to show off? Considering the brand didn't address any trim level below SLT during the recent reveal might lend us some clues. Might we see a replacement for the 4.3L V6 engine? Is a new hybrid model being offered? No-one knows yet but we'll find out later this month.

What do you think GMC has up their sleeve?

I can't believe that they don't have a GMC version of the trailboss.  As someone on his second All Terrain, I hope there's some news in  this  category.

Drag it out.

Get more press.

Keep GM trucks in the news.

Keep the forums talking about it.

There's good reason Sierra wasn't introduced at the same time as silverado.

There's good reason all Sierra trim levels weren't; announced at first reveal.

Wasn't there hints of more drivetrain combos at the chev reveal?

Keep the chatter and speculation going.

So far it's working.

There is large portion of the population wanting the function, looks and comfort of a full-sized pickup but do not wear Chevy hats or compare  gear ratios.  They want a truck to do its job yet make an effort to be more gentle on the environment.  I strongly suspect that hybrids and smaller more fuel efficient gas powertrains will not wait until the next generation of GM trucks.  I believe a lineup of just V8's and a Diesel is too limited of a marketing strategy for any truck manufacturer.

Come out with a raptor fighter with the colorado ZR2 shock technology.  35 in tires and the 6.2 V8.

Oh really...

Too soon for HD but who knows :dunno:

They only showed SLT and Denali, so its either the rest of the meat and potatoes (trims, engine details, etc.), or they have something up there sleeve that's completely unexpected.

Silverado was kinda similar, in that they debuted one truck/trim, then waited until NAIAS to show more info, but they still are holding out on details for the Silverado.

A Sierra GT that's more than just spiffy wheels and fancy paint!

A high output 6.2, maybe even with a blower, 10L90, Brembos, SLIGHTLY lowered rolling on some nice 22s and HP tires.

A slightly de-tuned LT4 would slip right in! Yeah baby!!!!

In one of those videos I've heard one of the guys saying something along the line: "...and more engines to come...".

Maybe the 3.0 inline is just for starters and they still have the 4.5 V8 up the sleeves....

so long

I think GMC has a winner with the 2019 Sierra I just hope they increase the HP on the 5.3 and the 6.2 V8 to compete with Ford F150.

Isn't the all terrain x the trail boss equivalent? Besides, it's just a level and off-road tires mainly with some other small add ons

Yes and Yes, but that's referring to the 2018's, we haven't seen what they have in mind for 2019's yet.

Well then what do you mean you can't believe GMC doesn't have a version of the trail boss yet? They do. And the trail boss isn't shit anyway, we really want something like the zr2 for the 1500's I think. Not just an overpriced level kit
