well, I currently have a Blackberry Curve 3G (Curve 9330) running OS6, which is Cocooned in an Otterbox Defender Case. unfortunately, when I Upgrade, I'll be switching to a gently used HTC Thunderbolt.

I am not likely to ever buy an Apple phone or computer. I have some friends that have them, and it seems every time they get the latest release, they have to update another machine to maintain connections. The one that first got me was a friend that bought a new iphone4 to replace her iphone3. She backed up her old phone to her mac desktop machine (at the time that machine was 18 months old), got the new phone, tried to restore her settings and apps to it only to find out that desktop needed to upgraded to the current apple operating system, just so could install the newer version of iTunes to restore her settings and phone. I did some research, and found that if I backed up her old phone to my 6 year old XP machine, I could then restore to her new phone. She was being forced to upgrade her desktop just to sync/restore her phone. Just ran into an issue with a friend that picked up a new apple laptop, now he cannot connect to a NAS device that his old mac had no issues with. Apparently Apple has changed something in how they deal with network storage devices.

apple is dumb, instead of using super common micro USB to charge or connect to phones they make you have a stupid connector then after you buy all the accessories like stereos and car mounts they go and change it, but all is not lost for a small fee they will supply you with an adapter.... LOL

I'm so glad I'm not jailed to itunes and can pick and choose what's on my phone when I hook up to my computer. Hook it up open the folder drag and drop its beautiful. There is a reason android is the most popular phone out there... Its not apple!

Apples connector does much more than the micro USB can. And you're comparing an entire OS to what is essentially one phone. Model vs model, I don't think anything can touch the iPhone.

I'm not just comparing phones the poll is about OS and android is the top OS right now and if you do some investigating you'll find Samsung s3 has taken quite a chunk of sales alone.

I like my iPhone, but little things about it annoy me. Mainly, how the connector is proprietary, lack of support for old models, and how everything has a freakin "i" in front of it. It seems like apple is always late to the party with new tech too. I think soon android will be smoother as well. Also, I hate iTunes, it sucks and doesn't do anything for you. They also failed to use USB 3.0, which is lame.

I know what the poll is but it is absurd to imply Android is better because it sells more- capacity aside, there is essentially one iPhone being promoted vs dozens of Android models. And I was planning on replacing my iPhone with a S3 in another month or so but you can again get Google maps on apple devices and that was the only advantage I see for my use, so there is no compelling reason to switch especially since I have thousands of songs from iTunes.

Spec for spec the top android phones such as the RAZR maxx HD and the GS3 outshine the iPhone. IOS babies you. I can dig through the os in my phone and find things. I can save a word document or PowerPoint in my phone where I want it and go back and view it

In the old days this would be stated as "girl friendly". The iPhone is meant to be simple to just operate. From what I have seen, once you get slightly beyond "normal use", the level of ease drops exponentially. On the desktop end of it, it starts out like Windows, and slowly migrates to be as easy as linux.. Any operating system that gives instructions to compile or build an install routine is not going to be completely user friendly. Apple has two levels of users, completely basic and extremely trained. They either use GUI or they use command line.

Still on my first Android phone an Inspire 4g. In March it'll be 2 years. Phone came with Froyo and then ATT released Gingerbread for it. HTC said they were going to put out ICS for it but then they "screwed" us and backed out citing it was too hard. I'd already been running ICS for 2 or 3 months by that time and I've been on Jelly bean (4.x.x) for about a month or so now. Apple is all well and good for those that like it but for me it's just too locked down and restricted. That and I refuse to own any apple product.
