Its NOT the tires & its not normal.....bring it back or to a better dealer that will try to correct it

So it's the tires????OK then why do they still keep putting these tires on their trucks then......cheaper to blow off a few customers than to upgrade the tires?

DEFINITELY NOT THE TIRES!!! I have use both Bridgestone Duellers and the Wranglers and still have the vibrations

Well it will be interesting to see what comes of the 2016's once they start hitting the streets in the next few days. So lets see what facts come out instead of just speculating what changes might or might not have been made for this issue. It's not like they would come out and say they resolved the vibration issue for 2016 as that would be admitting that there is a vibration issue and they don't seem willing to admit that so far.

Jesse, let me know when you are around, i need to get that TPS sensor back.

Hey Bill, Good to hear from you again. If you want I can meet with you late Saturday Afternoon or at some point on Sunday... Pats are tonight so thats no concern haha

GM Dealership has had mine since Monday night, they made an appointment for Tuesday and I let them know they can have it to Thursday.

I asked them to look at the following:

1. Center Dash Rattle by defroster vents

2. Steering wheel vibration please look at hubs, electronic power steering package, shocks, ball joints, and tie rod ends

3. AFM vibration please look at motor mounts (if they need shimmed on some trucks, might need shimmed on all)

I followed up with a phone call on Wednesday.

1. Center Dash Rattle by defroster vents, we drove and can not duplicate it - I personally sent them the fix for this issue as described in GM Techlinks bulletins within minutes of the phone call

2 and 3 Steering wheel vibration and AFM. We drove it around and yes I can feel what you are talking about, we are going to have another tech drive it and see what he thinks, then we may hook up the PICO meter.

Why the f$%& do they waste time driving around thinking what could solve the problem? The PICO meter analysis points them in the correct direction if done properly.

I am beginning to believe that the majority of the dealerships:

A. do not know how to analyze the PICO readings

B. do know how to analyze the PICO readings but are afraid of what they will find. Once the readings point to a repair that GM will not reimburse the dealership at 100%, the cat is out of the bag. I think that is why we hear this is normal operation.

It is now Thursday and I have not heard anything about where the truck is after getting promised a call back.

In for the disappointment !

I'll talk twice with you (dealership) etc.. 3rd time I'm in your shop doing a face to face. And that goes with everything, no matter what...

Just got the call back. All the vibrations are related, we opened a case for you. Whenever GM has a repair, we will call you. We still did not find the rattle in the dash.

I am going tonight to document all the service calls with the General Manager. I think I am done with this vehicle.

It's sad to have to get rid of a vehicle you love, just bc companies care more about there bottom line profits, than a loyal customer... I've read to also keep all service orders, especially ones that deal with specific vibration issues..

I need a print off of my first "fix" they didn't give me one cause I didn't owe anything. I'll be sure to have them print it off as well as this one coming up.

Is it bad I'm preparing to go through buyback this soon based on everyone else's outcome? Lol

Keep service record every visit. I didn't at first and once I realized the route i was being forced down I had to go back to them and get all the records. The dealership pulled a fast one on me and said my truck wasn't in for one of the attempts and have no record in their computer. When I showed them the rental agreement for that visit the service manager kept stumbling and realized he was caught, but still inisited there was no service then.

It was initially out of selfish reasons :-). I broadened it out quite a bit after realizing how many folks were impacted across the various platforms. Come on in.

    • Just did an injector/HPFP replacement on Pepper at 192,400 miles; close enough to 200K, RIGHT? (If 200K is considered life end and to me it isn't). But hey, to each his own.    Have never run a catch can on this vehicle. Back side of every valve looked like a new valve spray painted semigloss black. Port walls looked 'neat' (all a normal result of passive EGR via VVT) Zero build up even in AFM cylinders. Just color. It uses no measurable oil and never has.    At 155,000 I put her on E-85 and a borescope of the cylinders at plug change showed very clean pistons and valve faces. The replaced injector tips looked new. (It was the pump piston seal that was leaking). Oh well, have six good backups.    Still gets 28 mpg on gas (highway average) and over 20 (highway) on alky. UOA's look good and runs as good now as it did when I bought it. Better in fact.    What improvement would a Catch Can provide this motor?     And given all this I expect that IF I installed one I'd see some water/gas/oil vapor accumulation. Byproducts of normal combustion.   Having said that, IF my motor used an appreciable amount of oil I'd consider it a useful 'crutch' until I had the situation corrected OR if bore polished, until I junked it or rebuilt it to stave off repeated plug fouling.    I'm not telling you what I THINK. But what its DONE.
    • Love the look. I'm a SCSB lover myself.    Two items. 1.) A spacer changes scrub radius but this also changes when we use wheels of different offsets. A little isn't a big deal. 2.) Steel wheels, alloy wheels all have different thickness. Same effect on the stud and lug nut as a spacer. When hub centric the wheel isn't supported by the stud. It's supported by the hub. The stud just keeps it all together.
    • I had a evap sol go bad a couple weeks ago. . I replaced it.  While watching live data at the time I saw I had some cylinder 1 misfires. No MIL but on live data I could see ~50 at startup and about 70 more after an hour a drive all on cyl 1.  I also noticed that the LTFT were -5% to -15% always.  And that bank 2 is always -3% richer than bank 1. Even across all driving modes, city, highway, etc it’s always 3% richer than bank 1. So I start with the misfire. Swapped coil, plug, and plug wires from 1 to 3. No follow. I got an Injector reseal kit, pulled the D/s injector rail, swapped #1 and #3 injectors, resealed them, reinstalled and retested.  The misfire followed to 3. So I ordered and replaced all 8 injectors, spark plugs, and plug wires. Also replaced the 1 time use fuel pipes under the intake manifold.  Injectors that were in the truck since new were  Part # 12668390.  I replaced them with # 12742701 Got from RockAuto. Pretty certain they’re genuine and the correct ones. I called a friend at a parts store who told me “the 12742701 were the correct superseded part # for the originals I was replacing”. So started truck after replacing all that and it’s running -15 - -30 LTFTs. I reset the fuel trims with GDS2 and drove it for a 60 miles trip each way. There have been no changes in the LTFTs.  I checked if the HPFP was leaking into the crankcase. I removed the pvc and watched the trims. No difference.  I checked the alcohol content and it was at 10%  I’m out of ideas here. Truck seems to run great. Just always rich on the fuel trims.  Anyone with any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  I ran an injector balance test just for the heck of it and it came back this. I’m confused.  I have gds2 and some other diag tools if anyone knows of anything I should test next.
