Introducing the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban/Tahoe & GMC Yukon

Yes I think it's based on a truck frame. I discovered something awesome! The new Yukon Denali will be available with 4WD!!! This is really awesome. Liked it a lot!! Hopefully new Escalade has 4WD too.

You can see the transfer case switch on the left of the steering wheel.

So now I made 2 mistakes. Which is 6.2l is not provided with 4WD (False) and the new SUVs is not based on a truck frame (False).

Also I think if GM made the new half ton capable of towing around 9,600lbs then they will have a good reason not producing three quarter tons SUVs. Anyone agrees?

No, I won’t be happy until I see 8 lug nuts along with a full-floating rear axle on a Suburban. If they can get a 2500 series Suburban to tow up into the teens would make a lot of RVer’s very happy.

Sorry, I didn't have a chance to grab one. I know...lame. :tear:

That said, the Yukon is downright sexy in person. The Suburban/Tahoe doesn't look nearly as ridiculous as it seemed with those "winged" headlights. Overall very classy packages that visually look a heck of a lot smaller than the last generation.

Thanks Zane, will you get a chance to grab some pics before you have to leave? Would save me about 500+ mile trip. Especially interested in the flat rear floor with all seats down. Otherwise we have to wait tell next yr. to see in person, correct??

Edit: just read your HD post. Looks like you are back home by now. Thank you for the time, effort and and info. Traveling now a days is not always a pleasure ride.

You are more than welcome. I'm trying to improve our live posts each and every time we do one. Unfortunately, things happen and how much time I have to work varies greatly from event to event.

Sorry to not be able to get that photo for you. I'll be at the Escalade unveiling in a few weeks and can grab a photo of the seats for you there! Would that work?

My flights home went well but I didn't get to bed until after 2am last night. Ugh... feeling like a zombie today.

Zane, I do not envy your travel. Thanks again. Any pics when you get a chance will be fine with me.

wow they must look different in real life, because from pictures I thought they looked bigger.

They, surprisingly, really do look quite different in person than in photos. More compact, especially from the front view. I'd recommend waiting to see them in person before setting your mind one way or another.

Wonder how the suburban would look with a leveling kit and more aggressive tires....

I think it would look much better not being so low to the ground... also would looks better with aggressive tires

I'll be in the market in about 2 years (when 2 of my 3 kids are out of daycare). I was planning on looking for a low mileage 2012-14 lease/trade-in/etc.... but may have to consider one of the newer Suburbans. The used market probably won't yield much i'm sure, so I'll have to see how "leftovers" are priced compared to the previous gen's used prices.

This is going to be our "minivan" so i want to get it right. I think the USB/power ports on the new trucks is a great idea.... especially for long road trips with 3 kids who i'm sure will have 1-2 devices each!

Oh, and I have to mention. The interiors are just as good as they look in pictures. Really really nice!! It's amazing how far things have come in the last two generations.
